If you're looking for a typical "London experience," this probably isn't the area live long term, due to the distances involved to get to central. (Morden and Wimbledon are the nearest tube stops which are bus rides away). But for a decent balance between affordability and distance to amenities, and reasonable commuting times, it's definitely a good option.
Transport
Sutton station is about a 5 min walk away, in TfL Zone 5, with relatively fast connections to London Bridge, London Victoria and London Blackfriars, roughly every 20 mins each. Pre-COVID, reliability was reasonable, and if something was heavily delayed or cancelled, the alternatives mentioned above meant you could jump on another train and tube the rest of the way. Never an issue getting a seat either. Bus connections very good. Easy to catch the District line after a 20 min or so bus ride to Wimbledon. Very handy pre-pandemic was also the X26 express bus to Heathrow Central, which for £1.50 to get to the airport in less than an hour, was a very good deal. There is one night bus service that goes to Green Park in central London. Never had an issue with this, although given Sutton's location on the outskirts, it can take a while to get anywhere.

There are 3 large supermarkets within a 15 min walk, plus most of the usual suspects in terms of high street shopping brands down Sutton High Street. St Nicholas shopping centre has a large Empire cinema attached, which is surprisingly cheap for a multiplex in London, plus relatively modern. Plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance, with a good selection of chains and independents. Post COVID, would definitely recommend the Shinner & Sudtone pub about half way down the High Street. Outside space is reasonable. Plenty of off road jogging routes to be taken if you're prepared to venture out towards the Banstead Downs. The Carshalton Ponds are probably the nearest larger designated open space, a short bus ride away. Lots of spaces for sports, dog walking etc. Worth mentioning that this postcode is at the top of the hill relative to most of the shops and amenities in Sutton, plus the main station and bus stops, which is worth keeping in mind with heavy shopping etc. as it's all very much uphill on the way back.

It is becoming less and less safe it has been regenerated 20 years ago but crime, drugs and ASB are on the rise most of the good shops have disappeared and lots of areas were town halls were or shops are being redeveloped into more and more flats there is a big industrial park in purley with a good range of super stores but sutton Wallington and Croydon high streets are all low end

There are good transport links regular buses rail tram and roads the main junction at purley way known as five ways can become congested but parking is very expensive in the town centres

I live on a large council estate there is lots and lots of anti social behaviour and drug dealing it is not very pleasant where I live at all it is mainly low income families that live here

No there is not a good range of shops restaurants and bars everything we have is low end and cheap no classy venues and no high end retail outlets
