It celebrates individuality, welcomes the new (and trendy) and appreciates culture.

I am proud to say my area is becoming trending and upmarket. It celebrates individuality, welcomes the new (and trendy) and appreciates culture. There is a good community in the area, local parks and great schools so perfect to bring up Children.

Transport

Fantastic transport links. Bethnal green station is on the central line that dissects all of London, taking you to most places quickly. Only issue is that it very busy during rush hour to try and get into central London. There are plenty of bus routes that take you to all parts of London, and direct buses to most popular places. Night buses are sufficient and never had an issue of lack of.

Community

There are plenty of parking spaces. The local residents are made up of family owners so there is a nice community. It is away from the main road so there is little to no traffic noise. Bin collections provide easy recycling options, and local area is kept clean by local council.

Amenities

I live next to bethnal green, shoreditch and hackney! There’s is a lot of restaurants, bars and Independent cafes. All these local places are full of character, with unique aesthetic and quality menu. Hackney coffee company is my go to cafe (ideal workspace), providing spacious, bright and beautiful environment to be productive. I’m never short social activities thanks to being so close to shoreditch & Hoxton. From crazy golf, ping pong, adult ball pit to rooftop cinemas and bars. This area is by far the most up and coming area in London, appreciated not only by me, but visitors too. Brick lane and box park also adds more dine-in and take out options! Including many continental food and dietary trends (vegan etch). There’s a lot of local culture, best appreciated in the summer. This includes the Columbia flower market and the food market in Victoria park. As a local resident, I am never short of grocery shops, independent or not. There are local gyms at every stones throw, and local shops for most things you need in bethnal green road. Only thing missing are retailers for clothes, but I am happy with markets vintage/boutique shops. High street shops are close by public transport anyway (Westfield Stratford, canary wharf, west end).

The local council, specifically Tower Hamlets Homes has a reputation to be improved

Most liked - Victoria Park along with other open and green spaces. Least liked - reputation of the local council along with their customer service. Overall, a great and friendly atmosphere. A very wide ranging demographic, but one that generally lives in tranquility alongside each other. The area is well-suited for pets and children, as much as any average area inside the M25 if not more.

Transport

E2, E3 and E14 are all well served by public transport. Transport for London has 5 rail lines, some of which offering night-tube services, running on its network here: - Central Line - Hammersmith & City - Jubilee - Overground - DLR Alongside the tube there are many buses, with night-services also operating. All TfL services in these parts of London are reliable, regular and clean. In addition there is a well-functioning highway system for road users. This includes the Cycle Superhighway for the safety and convenience of cyclists.

Community

In my area the bins are regularly collected. There is ample parking, traffic noise is generally limited to daytime and relatively little anti-social behaviour. My area and street has a wide-ranging demographic. Native and life-long inhabitants, recent immigrants - of first, second and third generations - as well as students and professionals. There are people of all ages and circumstances - single people, couples and families.

Amenities

I live in E2, I work in E14 and spend time in E3. All areas are great and have their own character. E2 is my favourite area in London, with a good range of shops, restaurants, bars and various open spaces. This includes the famous Victoria Park, which has the award-winning status status as the nation’s favourite park in numerous years. All areas have been gentrified in recent decades, though E2 perhaps shows the best of the old alongside the new. You’ll still find a typical Bethnal Green style pub such as the Salmon & Ball or The Hare, but you’ll also find more hipster takes on alcohol-serving venues such as with the Dundee Arms and the sultry Satan’s Whiskers. In E3 you’ll find many chain restaurants - Subway, Nando’s, KFC etc alongside some more independent fast-food outlets. This serves the student population of nearby Queen Mary University well. E14 has had undergone the most development and is home to Canary Wharf, one London’s two financial districts. You don’t have to work there to take a trip out though, and you’ll find many great restaurants such as the Big Easy offering meals with waterside views. There’s also a wealth of opportunities - shops, restaurants and bars - on offer in the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre.

it’s a narrow street so it’s very dangerous

A lot of pets have been lost & cars go fast, people cross and it’s a narrow street so it’s very dangerous

Transport

Usually the (public) transport is good but it would be nice if there where cleaner and had ventilation (sometimes the windows aren’t enough) Also if the buses where frequent during school shifts

Community

Space to walk around. No violence. My dads friends live the same building, his work is also on the same road so he can easily come home in case something happens

Amenities

In E2, there is everything local: pubs, Park, fast food places, small businesses, schools etc. We live in a very popular place due to the markets and shops. People mostly come for the food and the groceries, the vegetable market stands, Tesco Metro, Iceland, McDonald’s, KFC etc. Time to time, they were festivals and funfair held at weavers field, People came and the park used to be filled. There are also small businesses around this place, such as garages and a few warehouses. Generally, the area is average but it would be nice if the equipment in the park were refurbished, therefore more children come to play. I’ve never seen new equipment it’s always been the same, almost as if it’s been forgotten.
