I think it’s perfect where I live so I don’t think nothing is missing, it’s a really nice area :)

I like how there’s safe places for children to go when they are fed up inside especially during Covid when there’s a lockdown. The atmosphere is nice, it isn’t crowded so it really feels like you can take in fresh air. We do need recycling bins! Our area is suitable for children and pets, there’s a park close by to walk your pet. The park also has children play area. This area is very safe!

Transport

The transport near me is so accessible. It doesn’t get crowded a lot, the most people use are dlr which can get quiet messy. However, I use the overground and it’s really fast and clean which makes it very comfortable to be in. I used to go on buses but there’s always so much traffic, I was so fed up of it so I changed to using trains :)! I would recommend trains. The problems that exist is traffic with busses and there is less night buses around my area. However, I ride my bike which helps me a lot. It’s very safe to ride around my area. There isn’t much rush hour on the overground, but the dlr can get quiet nasty.

Community

There is a parking availability for my building. This is nice but as I said boys come and chill there which is quiet annoying. There’s many bin collection points. However, I would like to see more recycling bins. This really could help the environment and with families living around, so much rubbish will come out so recycling bins is needed. We don’t have any traffic noise which is very surprising as the motorway is not that far from us. A lot of children play outside in the football pitch and children’s play area :)!

Amenities

It’s very quiet where I live. There’s a football pitch and a children’s play area though which is very nice to have when children want to go outside, especially in the circumstances right now with Covid, they get fed up at home. There is a bar right on the corner outside, not many people go but it’s okay for a local bar. I like this area as you also have Sainsbury’s and a really big Tesco near by. It’s not a far walk at all. You could also do click and collect for your Argos deliveries at Sainsbury’s!:) Theres accessible transport , we have the dlr and overground train. Also buses but I mostly use the trains to go places. There’s not much restaurants though, but Westfield and Canary Wharf are near by. There’s also a secondary school and primary school really close to each other. This is cool for children when their parents don’t want them to travel far. There’s a small park outside the dlr station that I’ve seen a lot of people workout in, children play in, and a lot of people chill in to have some time away. I have a car park for our building which can get quiet annoying as boys chill there. However, I think it’s perfect where I live so I don’t think nothing is missing, it’s a really nice area :)

It’s the little things that make the area a cosy environment.

2 years ago, we’ve faced news of a murder and avid attack in our area. That was because there had been gang related violence. However I’d say that has improved SO much and I’d have to agree it’s a safe environment compared to before. Everyone is so lovely and new families are always moving in. Pets too. I’d say it has improved so much it’s a safe area for children to grow up. The area is lovely too with the wide open space and access to travelling.

Transport

Where I live, I’d say it’s easy for me to travel. I work in central London so it takes me around 5-10 minutes to walk to Bow Road station. I also have the 108 bus stop both side of my flat so I can travel to Westfield Stratford whenever. The DLR is right next to my house too, so travelling has never been an issue for me. I’d say the buses do arrive on time most of the time. I’ve never dealt with issues. The transport is fairy clean for me. But because I drive these days, I wouldn’t know. Overall I’m satisfied with my travelling. Everything is in front of me :)

Community

As someone who lives in a council flat, I’d say it is nice to park my car in a residential area. That’s because there’s a lot of space to. Even during night when it was packed, I’d at least find 1 or 2 spaces to park my car. I’ve never had to worry because I know there are spaces around my area. Bin collections are not so bad but due to covid it has been difficult for drivers to be allocated on time. However I’ve never had to complain about any bins in my area. In my area, there are council flat residents who have lived there for a really long time. Everyone’s very lovely but a lot of people do keep themselves to themselves. Again I’d think it’s because of covid and everyone’s just trying to stay safe. Myself included. However everyone is lovely and greet one another during occasions. It’s a nice feeling.

Amenities

I was born and raised in the area and to be honest, I find it one of the most comfortable easy going area to live by. The community is very lovely as it shares a diverse multicultural background. What connects us together are the schools, mosques, community centres and mini shops where parents and friends may bump into one another and greet each other. It’s the little things that make the area a cosy environment. The shop keepers already know what you want to order and the schools are very welcoming. You can hear people party on a Friday night as pubs are open till late. However due to covid, it’s been very difficult for most people. And this goes out to everyone living outside E2, E3, E14. But in my 20 years of living and growing up in the neighbourhood, I’ve never seen so many people get together and support one another during this pandemic. Everyones been following the rules and looking out for one another, helping families who have been struggling to support their own children with free school meals by handing out their own home made. It’s sad that we’ve had to experience it, but it’s amazing what this pandemic has brought out of us. It’s shown that there are people out there who actually care about one another and I’ve seen it all in my area. I’m honoured to meet families mentally and physically giving us support and this goes both ways. I’m proud of my area. And I am impressed with the construction sight these days. There are so many areas that have been refurbished and so many lovely buildings near by with little cafes and restaurants opening up. I’m very impressed with the vast changes that have been taking places over the past 2 years. My only wish is that I’d hope the area continues to stay clean, and by that I mean council flats where cleaners used to be allocated but I can understand that due to covid, everyone is going through a lockdown nationwide. Regardless I’m happy with the area I’ve grown up in and I’m proud of everyone working together to make sure we all stay safe. And I do hope we all make it through these unprecedented times.
