Great area with everything you need close by

I like the diversity in my area. There are families and people from wide diverse backgrounds. The area has everything you need. Neigbouring areas have become very trendy such as Broadway Market. Few roads in our area such as Vyner Street have become very trendy also. Area is generally safe although there is a history of anti social behaviour but locals are usually never ever affected. Area is suitable for kids and families with pets.

Transport

I feel that transport link to my area is excellent. There are a number of busses which serve my area which include, D6, 254, 106, 388, 26, 48, 55, D3, 309. A good variety of busses travelling in various directions. Cambridge Heath overground Station is a few minutes walk. A little further away is Bethnal Green Underground station and a little further away is Bethnal Green overground Station. Hackney Central overground Station is a few stops away on the bus on the opposite direction. Liverpool Street Station is easily accessible with busses and trains going there from our area. There are a number of the santander 'Boris Bikes' available in a number of different spots. Most roads are cycle friendly. A number of cab offices available withing walking distance. Busses are quite frequent and regular. There are a number of night busses which run at regular intervals although not as frequent as the day. The only problem is that due to the number of road closures in the area and lane closures, the roads do get congested especially during rush hour.

Community

The people living on my road are mainly families. 90% families. Some couples and very few students. Most are renting from the council/housing association which owns the properties. There are a large number of parking facilities both council residential and private estate parking. There are business parking bays for business permit holders. Bike cages for cyclists. Not much traffic noise as we are a little away from the main road. Bin collections are made once a week.

Amenities

I feel like there is a really big range and variety of various types of shops, bars, restaurants, takeaways and open space in this area. There are a number of newsagents and supermarkets, both high street names and privately owned. Within a few minutes walk from my house, we have a Sainsburys, Co-Op, Tesco and a Nisa Local. There are also 3 or for corner shops newsagents and off licenses. I am not someone who visits pubs and bars but I am aware that there are a number of pubs and bars in the area on various streets, main roads and side roads. There are barber shops and salons, gyms, car and bike mechanical garages, car washes, phamacists, cafes, community centres, mosques, churches all within walking distance. There are a few play areas for kids and a few minutes walk away we have Victoria Park which provides you with a massive open space. Something missing in my area would be youth clubs. There were a few quite a few years ago but have all now vanished. I think the absence of youth clubs in the area is the reason our youngsters get themselves into trouble and fall victim to trouble.

The local council, specifically Tower Hamlets Homes has a reputation to be improved

Most liked - Victoria Park along with other open and green spaces. Least liked - reputation of the local council along with their customer service. Overall, a great and friendly atmosphere. A very wide ranging demographic, but one that generally lives in tranquility alongside each other. The area is well-suited for pets and children, as much as any average area inside the M25 if not more.

Transport

E2, E3 and E14 are all well served by public transport. Transport for London has 5 rail lines, some of which offering night-tube services, running on its network here: - Central Line - Hammersmith & City - Jubilee - Overground - DLR Alongside the tube there are many buses, with night-services also operating. All TfL services in these parts of London are reliable, regular and clean. In addition there is a well-functioning highway system for road users. This includes the Cycle Superhighway for the safety and convenience of cyclists.

Community

In my area the bins are regularly collected. There is ample parking, traffic noise is generally limited to daytime and relatively little anti-social behaviour. My area and street has a wide-ranging demographic. Native and life-long inhabitants, recent immigrants - of first, second and third generations - as well as students and professionals. There are people of all ages and circumstances - single people, couples and families.

Amenities

I live in E2, I work in E14 and spend time in E3. All areas are great and have their own character. E2 is my favourite area in London, with a good range of shops, restaurants, bars and various open spaces. This includes the famous Victoria Park, which has the award-winning status status as the nation’s favourite park in numerous years. All areas have been gentrified in recent decades, though E2 perhaps shows the best of the old alongside the new. You’ll still find a typical Bethnal Green style pub such as the Salmon & Ball or The Hare, but you’ll also find more hipster takes on alcohol-serving venues such as with the Dundee Arms and the sultry Satan’s Whiskers. In E3 you’ll find many chain restaurants - Subway, Nando’s, KFC etc alongside some more independent fast-food outlets. This serves the student population of nearby Queen Mary University well. E14 has had undergone the most development and is home to Canary Wharf, one London’s two financial districts. You don’t have to work there to take a trip out though, and you’ll find many great restaurants such as the Big Easy offering meals with waterside views. There’s also a wealth of opportunities - shops, restaurants and bars - on offer in the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre.

Nice area but council has ruined the area with anti car agenda

It has become very trendy and many of old shops have been replaced with hipster pop up shops and has become very similar to Shoreditch

Transport

The transport links are good with homerton overground and hackney down station both nearby and loads of bus routes to place like Dalston and west London.

Community

Street is made of good mixture of home owners and renters and is a very desirable location due to it being very trendy.

Amenities

Loads of shops now with alot of then very trendy shops but has become car free so impossible to drive or park in area anymore.
