It can be helpful to get into West London by the Victoria line at Seven Sisters. It just feels a bit odd as Seven Sisters is further out of London.

The introduction of the overground has made life a bit easier around here. Still not perfect though. The overground is slow with so many branches - you always need to change at least once to get anywhere. Have started cycling into the City for work. Find it easier and less stressful - despite the roads being so busy at rush hour.

I've grown up in the area so I personally find the community here amazing. But then, I know so many locals. Probably too many if I'm honest. It's a nice enough area though. Been good to see more and more young families come to live here over the years as there is a lot on offer for them.

Stoke Newington High Street is not too far for me - that's where I spend a lot of my time. The high street at Clapton is further away. Not quite as good in my opinion. Sodo Pizza Clapton is brilliant. Certainly far more to do here than there used to be when I was a kid. Better quality stuff too. All this gentrification has come at a price though.

There is everything you need in a small area without it being too busy or cramped. There is a nursery, primary and secondary school within 5 minutes walk of my home. It is quite an upcoming trendy area with a lot of younger people and families which I really like. The general public are very respectable and friendly. It is a very safe area, especially for animals and children. I have never felt nervous late at night going home- being a young woman that is quite an achievement. I would recommend N16 to anyone within a heartbeat. The surrounding homes are beautiful with lovely architecture full of space.
Transport
The cycle routes around N16 are brilliant. There are many buses that can get you right into town and most other destinations. There is a lack of underground stations but that is compensated with the amount of overground stations surround the area. I think it is a very feasible and easy place to travel in/out of.
Community
Most neighbours are family homes or couples- very caring and respectful. I find the streets always very peaceful and friendly. There is no traffic and no disruptions. Bin collections are always punctual.

I absolutely love living in N16. Everything I need is right there on my doorstep- wonderful pubs and restaurants surrounded by any other facility needed. I feel spoiled by my choices. Incredible bakeries and coffee shops, fabulously fresh green grocers, tranquil parks and beautifully designed buildings with lovely aesthetics. The park is always full of happy people walking dogs or children playing in the huge playground, even a skate park! There is also a magical cemetery park filled with hundreds of routes to find each time you visit. I am lucky enough to be right next to a leisure centre and a 5 min cycle from a climbing gym! Church street is always bustling with people enjoying their morning coffees and stylish brunch’s. I feel as though nothing is missing from N16 and I am very grateful to be living here.
