Archway is a mobile area, changing all the time. Thankfully it is still family friendly with good schools at all levels. There are many Archway communities that have flourished on the internet and their is widespread local help during the pandemic for vulnerable residents.

Absolutely outstanding links to of London, south to the West End and the City and plentiful routes both local and further field over all of north London.
Community
On my estate, there are good bin collection facilities, a mixture of owners and renters. Both couples, singles and families populate this area with close links to all of Archway.

Archway N19 is an area of many changes. Still part of the older London localities, it has in recent years accelerated its progress to a much more modern central area of north London. It has attracted new shops - not always to everyone's pleasure, but Aldi, M&S Foodhall and modern lively coffee shops are welcome additions. A new road system around Archway Tavern has made access to the central island easy. So what are the good things. A great London hospital - Whittington - a matter of hundreds of yards from Archway Centre. Easy access to Parliament Hill and Hampstead Heath with the mysterious and famous Highgate Cemetery en-route. Archway also has the most fantastic transport links with connections by Underground and bus directly to the West End and the City of London as well of links all over north London with plentiful buses and British Rail network. On the downside is that property prices and rents have increased in the last few years. High buildings are proposed for the Archway island area. Also local pubs have diminished in quantity and few older taverns remain. What is needed is a good ironmonger to replace the much missed Thomas Bros. And more local shops and creativity would be welcome. But still a great place to live and work

The area is safer than a lot of people expect. Pet and children friendly especially with Finsbury Park there. The area is being continuously developed so its a great place to be in. I personally love the transportation access and routes available. They help me commute quicker and cheaper

The area of Finsbury Park is great. Great train and rail connectivity to central london and heathrow. You have the victoria line, picadilly line and national rain trains that go out of london too. Bus wise, there is a bus station right outside the train station and as the traffic can get bad, public transport is the best option

Residential parking is available to many residents and pay and display bays and areas are widely present. The area is full of mixed groups from families to students with the rise of the student accommodations in the area. Traffic can build up at times but only during peak hours. Bins are collected every week

There are a lot of gyms, pubs and restaurants on the high road and you can find every big chain restaurant in the area. If you are a football fan then the Emirates stadium is a 10 minute walk from the station and finally for excercise you have finsbury park which also host numerous events such as Wireless festival. Its a lovely diverse area with a lot to offer

It's a mixed area - some streets are nice and quiet, some are more run-down. Around me there are good amenities and transport links, but it's not the lively urban environment some people might want.
Transport
Archway is a hub with 10-15 bus routes as well as the Northern Line. The Archway redevelopment included cycle routes but these aren't very well connected to other routes. I mainly use the busses to go to Hampstead, Highbury & Islington, and Finsbury Park, and tube for the rest of London. I've not had any issues with transport links, but if you live far from the tube stations (Tufnell Park, Archway, Highgate) it might be less ideal.

It's a quiet street. Probably because of the trees, there's no noticeable noise from the busy Archway Road. Average parking availability, bins and recycling on the same day every week. General mix of all stages of life - students, families, retirees. It's nice because it doesn't feel too urban but it has good transport links.
Amenities
There's a newly pedestrianised public space around Archway tube, it's average but improving - a new pub just opened and there's a market every weekend, and two chain supermarkets. Up towards Pond Square in Highgate there's a better atmosphere, and a larger park. Decent pubs/restaurants throughout
