I think it's a good area in North London, you have everything around you could need and there are many little markets as well more quiete streets and parks. It feels safer toward Crouch End that toward Wood Green in my opinion.
Transport
You can commute from the eastside of N8 with the Picadilly line and acces to the tube through many buses lines in the area. Tthe victoria line is few stops down at Finsbury Park so it's very easy to access to all the big lines for the tube. There are night buses almost everywhere so you can come travel back home anytime, the night tube has been stopped at the moment but hopefully will reopen later. Few of my friends that drive find it difficult to park around as you have to pay or have a card from the council.

Bins are regularly collected and only had an issue once with my wastes but the council worker were very helpful and gave guidance. There are families in my streets and workers mainly I believe.

There are many shops in my area (close to turnpike lane), all the big supermarkets but also a lot of local shops to get a wide choice of international food. There are a lot of restaurants, the best area for turskish and greek food on the green lanes side with bigger franchises and lot more local and indepedant restaurants toward crouch end. The Wood green mall is not far for shopping and you can commute easily from there. There a several gyms franchises around, hookah bar and small bar/pub down greeb lanes. The only thing that is missing for me is a proper live scene or a small music venue. There is a lack of cultural events or art spaces around.
