Small central street with few hidden gems
I feel quite safe here although at night it tents to get a bit rough with all the homeless people passing by or just drunk people. I would like to see the area gain more coffee shops, parking and recycling bin access. Whenever I feel like going to the market, I head few minutes to kings cross or coal drop yard. I like my area for it’s accessibility and connection. I dislike it for being quite dirty.
I have about 4 mins walk to Kinga cross or Euston which is really convenient for me. There’s a great bus link but the rush hour makes the area a bit busy but I don’t mind that at all. There’s regular buses and now there are bike lanes that keep appearing which is lovely to see
I live on Chalton street. There are not great parking availability and the annoying thing is that they announce “works” on the street which never happen so that means we have to move the car somewhere else. My car was tolled because of that! It’s very annoying. The street is quiet, although during peak hours the taxis like to drive through this street and that creates traffic as the road is narrow because of the parked cars. There aren’t many bins! No recycling bins in my building which is a huge minus. People tend to leave the rubbish outside and the foxes get to them, ripping up the bags. It is not very clean street. I would like to see more recycling bins
I live in Somers Town. There aren’t many local coffee shops which is what is missing in this lovely area. I like that we have Somers town coffee house which is a pub! It’s a beautiful, little pub with amazing food! It seems to be popular place it’s always packed with people who come to drink after work or at the weekend. We have a cheese shop on Chalton street called Cheeselo. They have a great variety of French to British cheese. She also offers cheese tasting and raclette night which I highly recommend. We have few corner shops but we lack coffee shops or a bakery. I would to see this area to transform a bit. I can’t complain because where I live is really central so I have couple of minutes walk to the amazing Coal drop yard or Camden Town. Coal drop yard is the best thing that happen to Kings cross. It’s totally transformed the area! Lots of shops, coffee places and restaurants! This is what this area needed!
Camden and its area boasts a wonderful community, whilst being diverse and multicultured it is also one of the most developed boroughs in London.
The area is being utilised by all the big companies and being developed further . The living standards and local amenities are a joy. Camden is thriving since the upgrading of the area in and around the canal, attracting the likes of Google and Samsung. There are now more gyms than ever before in Camden, with an emphasis on betterment of health, life and mental well being.
There transports links around the area makes it easy to commute to and from work for adults and to high street shopping. There's many underground stations as well as links to national rail coming into and going out of London. The bus network, is very astute in that there's a lot of different routes and lines.
The area has seen a lot development lately and these are coming to completion phases. The noise has reduced drastically and the community feel is better than ever. Parking facilities are improving and there is less high emission vehicles in the area due to extra surcharges enforced by the local authority.
I have had the privilege of growing up in Camden and have lived here since birth. This is now 30 years and counting. Camden and its area boasts a wonderful community, whilst being diverse and multicultured it is also one of the most developed boroughs in London. The number of developments in the area has made it a very comfortable area to live in. There is many amenities and shops located nearby ranging from food outlets, restaurants, cafes and retail shops. The area is full of many nearby local parks and schools for those looking to settle down with small families. The local authority has invested in so many new projects nd initiatives including facilities for both adults and young children. The area is also situated very closely to leading health institutions such as the UCLH and Royal Free Hospitals.

the transport links in NW1 are excellent. Camden town mornington crescent and euston cover a great deal of space, so you’re always near a station. there are plenty of bus stops around too.
my street is nice, it has a park opposite and the building has security. the other houses are terraced and pretty.
NW1 has the local camden high street. there are a lot of shops however the area is not very nice and there are usually quite a lot of aggressive homeless people. There are a few parks but they’re not very well maintained. The nicest area is Granary Square by UAL St Martin’s. This has a lot of nice shops and is privately owned so no loitering and it is always very clean. The architecture there is also very nice.
There a lot of tourists always around and people that will just come for couple of days
