Its a bit old fashioned with the red green and blue buildings but does feel like home

Its a bit old fashioned with the red green and blue buildings but does feel like home. I think more shops should open below the buildings rather than parking garages. More money for the community. People would shop local. Giving more jobs with the community. May even help with the young troubles. Plus im pretty sure who ever owns those garages would get more money as a shop

Transport

Theres bus stops all around us all minutes walk away. Going in all directions. Got marlybone station 10 minuted away and edgware road station 15 minutes away. Have the santander cycle service downstairs. We do get alot of traffic on marlybone road and edgware road. Cycling and bus is easier

Community

There are loads of parking space do tend to get hard to find a spot after 6. Bins dont smell like they used to which is great. There are alot of young boys and girls who never have given me any problems but do hassle others making it look like a bad area for new people The people i know off are mostly coucil housing and they live as a family. Very less home owners but there are a few that i know of.

Amenities

I love the area. Nice large confectionery store literally below my building and next door to them is a fairly big laundrette i use them only for drying right opposite me is an open outdoor gym equipment free for all to use, which saves me money on the gym. Around the corner we have a decent quiet park which is nicely laid out and bit further a very large playground sectioned off for smaller children and has a large football and basketball pitch plus with a nice view, which is a stone throw away, of the canal. From my house im a few 100 yards away from church street comprised of many variety of shops and stalls and libary there too. Got regents park 10 minute walk away. Local stations are marlybone which has underground and over ground. Edgware road is just a 10 minute walk down. Everything is local .

A vibrant area littered with amazing restaurants and bars and right by Europes biggest shopping high street, also boasts beautiful parks, canals and lakes..The best of both worlds!

I love the area I'm in as it's walking distance to some lovely little parts of London eg Little Venice, Maida Vale, St Johns Wood, Marylebone, Paddington & Edgware Road. I suppose I would class the area on my doorstep as multicultural with a strong sense of Arabic influence with Edgware Road being affectionately known as the "mini Beirut" of London with all its shisha bars & Cafes. It has a mix of international and trendyness about it. The area ia suitable for kids and pets with lots of green spaces in the area eg Hyde Park, Reagents Park and there are schools and sports clubs in the area too.

Transport

The area is extremely well connected with 24 hour buses covering most routes and I am 10 to 15 minutes walk away from Edgware Road, Marylebone & St Johns Wood underground stations. There are plenty of cycle lanes on the roads in the area and I am a 15 minutes walk away from Paddington station which has plenty of overground services on offer aswell as easy access to Heathrow airport. The traffic can be bad at times during rush hour but the congestion charge has definitely made improvements in this regard. The stations and buses and tubes are all well maintained and kept clean and to s high standard. The only issue I would have is there is alot of pollution in the area as a result of the all the cars and buses travel through aswell as noise pollution created mainly by being so closely situated to St Mary's Hospital with lots of sirens passing at all times of the day.

Community

The good aspects of living on my street are the regular street cleaners keeping the place nice and tidy. The bin and refuse collection service is on point. There is also a regular presence of police in the area which keeps anti social behaviour down. The area does suffer from noise pollution with regular sirens passing at all times of the day with St Mary's Hospital close by. My street is occupied mainly by familes and couples, more renting than owners. There is afew students in the area aswell.

Amenities

The area is really well connected with 24 hour buses covering most routes and I have Edgware Road, Marylebone and St Johns Wood underground stations all within walking distance and very close by. The highlights of my area include: - walking to the bars, restaurants and shisha lounges on Edgware Road aswell as visiting the shops/markets/restaurants/bars of Marylebone High street which is 15 minutes walk from me. - easy access into the West End (10 mins by tube to Piccadilly Circus) - Madame Tussauds and the Sherlock Holmes Museum are just 10 mins walk away. - you have one of the the world's best parks in Hyde Park close by, and Regents Park, is on my doorstep with its lake, boats, rose garden, cafes, tennis courts and outdoor theatre (in season). - the shops/restaurants of St Johns Wood and Maida Vale are close by aswell as beautiful Little Venice with its canal bars, cafes and boats tours - world famous Lords Cricket ground is just around the corner and perfect for me being a cricket lover! - London's best and most famous gourmet fish and chip shop/restaurant (The Seashell) is in the area also. - it's a 15 minute walk away to Marble Arch and Oxford Street with its plethora of shops including Selfridges, John Lewis, House Of Fraser and many other flagship stores. - just 2 minutes around the corner is Church Street Market and there is some of the best antiques shopping in London in the famous Alfie's antiques market with rooftop cafe. - there are 3 gyms close by aswell as a yoga centre (Indaba). The only 3 criticisms I have of my area are - a lack of a proper police station although there is a police drop in counter on Church Street. - homelessness is rife in the area and particlarly bad and noticeable at night. - also there is alot of noise pollution and regular sirens going by at all times of the day and night with St Marys hospital close by. All in all, I'm really happy with the facilities and amenities available in my area, and love living there with no desire to leave anytime in the future.

The rent varies from £1000-1500 which isn’t too bad

Apart from the wonderful shops, restaurants and historic buildings in Marylebone, we always enjoy visiting Edgware Road on the very edge (western boundary) of this beautiful district. The Edgware Road corridor is one of the most vibrant places in London. Open 7 days and seemingly all night as well! This is a favourite gathering place for many Middle Eastern families -- not super-rich but definitely affluent. The number of Halal restaurants is beyond comparison. The excellent Waitrose and Tesco have a non-stop stream of customers. And it is a very safe area, thanks mainly to the civil behaviour of the patrons at the Middle Eastern shops and eateries

Transport

The whole of Edgware Road, top to bottom, will be safe walking in the evenings with kids, but keep them well away from the road if they are small, as the traffic is always heavy and fast.

Community

There is 3 nearly schools to me which is great . The rent varies from £1000-1500 which isn’t too bad

Amenities

The whole of Edgware the traffic is always heavy and fast. Restaurant owners are mainly arab with most shops selling shisha and arab food
