Overall, there is a wide range of people in the area, from all walks of life. The area is just far enough from Central London that there is a neighbor-hood feeling but the amenities of the city are extremely accessible. It is the best of both worlds. There are quite a few, expensive, high-end shops taking up the High Street which are not really available to the average consumer. There are lots of children in the area given the proximity to schools and for the most part, children can walk around without worry as long as they are sensible. There are lots of spaces for pets to walk on and off lead nearby and there are no threats of wild animals to pets given the urban aspect of the neighborhood.
Transport
The NW8 area is well-serviced by TFL buses, and Underground stations. The Jubilee line is most associated with the area and this line connects to many main train stations. The bus stops are usually covered and have digital signs with live countdowns to the bus. You will never wait for too long to get your next bus. The trains come every couple of minutes North and South. You will find typical London traffic during morning and evening rush hour, but for the most part it is easy to find a seat and having breathing space. There are seldom times when large chunks of the TFL service is down in the NW8 area, thus you can always count on being able to travel. There are also many taxis which frequent NW8 and a couple of taxi stands. If you ever order a taxi or Uber, it will only be a few minutes before you are in the car.

The NW8 area has a high concentration of American people/students/families due to the proximity to the American school. Overall, parking availability is moderate however you may have to take some time browsing for a non-resident permit parking spot. For residents with a parking permit, there is plenty of availability. There is a regular and reliable bin collection service, and there is seldom traffic aside from the main road. Most residents own their accommodations, and there is a good sense of community. The area is regularly patrolled by Metropolitan police officers which contribute a nice sense of safety.

There is a fair range of cafes and grocery shops that operate on and near the local St John's Wood High Street. There are a couple of cozy pubs which are often frequented by locals. The area also boasts a couple of higher-end restaurants which attract people from outside of the area. These restaurants have phenomenal menus, especially for people with dietary restrictions like vegetarianism. On a typical afternoon, the area will be bustling with families going to the shops or taking walks to the lovely nearby parks. There is always something to do in NW8.

I love living here. I could live anywhere in the world if I wanted to but I've found nowhere else better! The image of NW8 is one of wealth and celebrity but it's not like that at all. OK there are famous people hanging around but it doesn't make a difference. It's a fair mix of all sorts. I think it's a relatively safe area, certainly beautiful.
Transport
Very well served by public transport. We have a tube station on the Jubilee Line. Several bus routes will get you here including night buses. London black cabbies are here all the time as they have there own cabbie hut close to "the burial". Also coaches to and from London have stops here.
Community
My area has always felt safe with very little anti social behaviour. Even with thirty thousand cricket fans there is very little trouble as they all disappear pretty quickly. On my street three is free parking all weekend! Most of this street is rented with a few private housing dotted about. Largely family housing among the thousands of trees which surround us. The whole area is very well maintained and attractive.

I live in the paradise that is St. John's Wood, London. We are not blessed with many shops, restaurants & bars yet we are blessed with quality. Here you will find one of the city's best Deli = Panzers, a legendary shop here since 1944, we also have Harry Morgans New York Deli restaurant serving home made food in generous portions. There are many exclusive boutique clothing shops on the High Street. Several coffee shops and cafe's are dotted around. Behind St. John's Wood Church is a small local park known locally as "The Burial" is beautifully maintained by a small team of dedicated gardeners. The Regents Park borders the area with London Zoo close by. Great views of London are to be found at Primrose Hill. Lord's Cricket Ground is in NW8 and Abbey Road are also here where visitors are able to see one of our most famous zebra crossings in the area. We also have a 3D zebra crossing. St. John's Wood has a unique and noted light which is one of the reasons that historically the area attracted many artists. Blue plaque hunters won't be disappointed as we have many including Mme. Tussaud, Benjamin Britten, Billy Fury + lots more. NW8 does not have many "take away" shops if any! (though all of the restaurants and cafes adopted this service during the Corona virus lockdowns). There is no automatic laundry for miles! No doubt about it St. John's Wood is one of the loveliest areas in London.

At John’s wood is nice to walk and there is nice cafés there, and the proximity to the city is wonderful as you can walk to Oxford street.

It is well communicated. We have the jubilee line ten minutes walking from here, and you can definitely walk Oxford street or Camden l. There is always buses running around the area but the traffic horrible sometimes

Well, the area is seen as a residential posh area and it is true. There is a few council states around but most of the streets are full of posh and expensive houses. St Johns wood is very popular for wealthy people and they don’t doubt to buy an overpriced coffee. There is a couple of pubs around the area but extremely overpriced. On the other side of th road there is church market street full of cheap fruit and vegetables stands, but with dubious quality.
