Overview of SE14 5TN, Kitto Road, London

I would recommend this area for families or young adults. It’s has a great feel of community spirit (telegraph hill festival) and is a small nugget of greenery in London.

Transport

There is access to two train stations with frequent and reliable trains. Although during rush hour (pre covid) the transport can be extremely congested. I have found that road works really effect the bus routes and are incredibly frustrating to ride - I avoid the bus at all times. However, the expansion of the overground has really helped connect south London to the centre.

Community

My road has a great sense of community and people are considerate of their neighbours. There are mostly families on the street, with a combination of renting and owning the properties. There are Bin collections on Wednesday. I find that if you don’t take out your bin into the street, they do not always take out the refuse.

Amenities

New cross has a great range of pubs for different age groups / preferences. My favourite would be The rose as they have a big beer garden and delicious pizzas. There are a range of supermarkets/ shops to buy food - also a farmers market in Telegraph hill every Saturday which sells local produce. Both of the telegraphs hill parks have nice green spaces - specifically the top park as you get beautiful views during sunset. This would be the best part of New Cross to live in my opinion.

I like the fact that we have important local shops around for example the laundrette, corner shop, Taylor shop and other convenient stores are around

Transport

There only one train station in the area but it has a wide range of areas to go to also we have a bus garage meaning that plenty o buses can take us to anywhere we want to go

Community

No parking space at all, bin hidden at the back of the block, not much traffic since I don’t live on the Main roads

Amenities

Peckham is not such an advanced area to live in but the people in the community just bring more joy and happiness to the area as it tries to improve
