Overview of SE17 2HP, Liverpool Grove, Walworth

The area is definitely safe, trendy, upmarket and a good place to raise kids owing to proximity to social amenities, parks, schools, libraries, hospitals, listed churches and in fact very historical places like the birth place of Charlie Chaplin, Oliver Goldsmith etc. It’s also a nice place to have and raise a pet. Well, everyone has got one with cats being the favourite.

Transport

Camberwell and in fact the whole of SE5 is just a stone throw from Central London and therefore centrally located with underground, overground, national rail, Santander cycle and buses literally a stone throw from every single doorstep. The area being near to Central London, in fact, about 2 miles is well served by night buses. The central location makes rush hour a pleasurable experience because there’s always another bus behind!

Community

Being near to central London, parking can be a problem but then with well connected public transport who cares. Also, there’s always a Zipcar around the corner as well as Santander bike littered everywhere! Though on a major road leading into London, I must confess that traffic noise is not that bad compared to other suburbs near to a major city. The area is also not bad in terms of security so far you take caution. Being a predominantly student living area, you’d expect some anti-social behaviours sometimes but not one serious enough to invite a major concern. Think about, students will always be students!

New York is a city that never sleeps. If that’s true then Camberwell is a suburb of London that suffers from insomnia. The suburb is always lively with huge open Burgess Park, probably the biggest in London. The Camberwell High Street is centrally located and well connected to all parts of London. In fact, it’s less than 20 minutes walk from Central London. Living in Camberwell is like living in Central London but on a suburb budget. The High Street is never lacking in anything including restaurants, gyms, schools, library and every single thing in life that makes a huge city. The transport link is also on top as the Camberwell just like the rest of SE5 is centrally located to underground, overground, national rail, Santander bike and of course bus routes service almost half the buses in London going into Central London.

I personally dislike the atmosphere and the community in the area as it is largely not taking care of the area, litters and behaves disgracefully Hopefully it will change in a few years

Transport links are good. Tube station is 10 min away and lots of bus stops - city centre is only a short bus ride away.

Community

Not many good aspects about the street itself (it is quite dreadful) but the building block is ok, most neighbours are professionals and friendly enough and interested to keep the block in a good state

Shops aren’t great but there is one small marks and Spenser down the road. Lots of pound shops and quite a few low end coffee shops and fast food joints.
