The amenities within walking distance is really a strong point - short trips can be made for groceries and the occasional takeaway without needing to take the car. The surrounding streets are usually very quiet, however if a more bustling and busy atmosphere is desired, this can be found a short distance away on the high street, where buses can be caught and friends can meet to eat out at restaurants and take-aways. Although the lack of an underground station can be frustrating, the perks of the area and the general safety and security still make it a very pleasant place to live and raise a family.
Transport
Transport links is not one of the strong suits of the area. There is only one overground station, and this tends to get very busy during peak times. However, bus routes are plentiful and buses are regular! Traffic is to be expected, with a large hospital and busy high streets nearby, but not unreasonable.
Community
On street parking is plentiful, and usually a few bays are available throughout the day. The area remains fairly quiet throughout the day, and does not really experience significant anti-social behaviour. There are a mixture of residential dwellings in the area - houses with families, and apartments with couples and single professionals.
Amenities
The area is just a short walk to Peckam Road, a high street with a great selection of restaurants and take-aways - you can grab an arab falafel, an italian pizza, or a traditional British fish and chips! To the east is Denmark hill, where popular chain stores can be found such as Greggs, McDonals, Superdrug and Poundland. An array of supermarkets are also found within close proximity, you are literally spoiled for choice. The street has a Morrisons, Lidl, and Co-op. While there are an abundance of food places, the area does lack clothing retailers (other than the odd independent business), so a quick pop into Primark or H&M is not possible. There are a few green spaces dotted around nearby also, however they are not significant in size, and the area is very much largely metropolitan. The greens are frequented by students from nearby university campuses, and medical students from Kings College Hospital, just a short distance away.

In terms of the range of transport links (e.g. bus, tube, overground or cycle routes, again all of the above are such a convenience as my family cycles a lot and there's a lot of space to that and also for those that drive, there's not too much traffic here.
Community
So where i live, there's lots of families and everyone here gets along, there's not a lot of noise. Parking can be quite challenging i must say but we do eventually find something. In terms of the bin collections, they always come on Wednesday mornings which is great .

In terms of the range and quality of local shops, restaurants, bars we have a great selection such as morrisons, nandos and a McDonald's. They're only a like a ten minute walk from where I live is handy.

In general the transport is good. There is good service in buses and i live next toa train station which makes it easy to reach the centre in no time.

The good aspects is the proximity to the centre as it is easily reachable within 20 min but one the bad side the area is not great in comparison to others as the things to do locally are a bit limited
Amenities
The bars and restaurants are nice if you go towards elephant and castle which is next to where I live. But in my area the range of variety of restaurants and bars is quite limited.
