Overview of SW10 9AR, Ifield Road, Kensington

Where we live is very upmarket. It is not the most exclusive area of Chelsea -- far from it -- but it is a wonderful place that is full of interesting and attractive people. There is a real buzz from the area; people are happy to live here and we all seem to appreciate how well the council looks after the area. The area seems fairly safe and does not attract many loiterers. People seem to enjoy an easy pace of life here, or maybe they just work hard and play hard. There are lots of people walking designer dogs. Some parts of the area could do with a touch-up, especially our property (a former pub). I would recommend this area to professionals, or students looking to spend their undergraduate years in a safe and comfortable setting.

Transport

In SW10, we have so many options for travel. We live near West Brompton Overground, Fulham Broadway, and Earl's Court. The bus links are peppered along the roads and appear to be well-used, although we have not needed to take a bus.

Community

Our street is a quiet, leafy Chelsea road. The people living here are generally white, upper-middle class. People are respectful, by and large, although some low types do pass through the area walking their dogs. On occasion, we find that our dustbins are being used by dog walkers to dispense with their canine's waste. This is unfortunate but the council are extremely efficient at collecting the garbage several times a week, which is excellent. I must say, however, that the bin men leave a terrible mess on parts of the street from bins spilling out and the detritus not being removed. The crows descend on this mess and the street becomes a lot less pleasant because of it. I cannot comment upon the rental/ownership status of our road. We are renters, a professional couple without children. The road seems to have a mixture of young professionals and established families. The road is not busy, although it can get a little noisy on bin collection days.

Amenities

The range of amenities in SW10 is terrific. We are flanked on either side by the glorious boutique shops of Fulham Road, and the food mecca that is Whole Foods Market. There is a bounty of healthy food shops selling top-quality produce. The side streets (e.g., Hollywood Road) have a wonderful selection of local restaurants that greatly contribute to the great ambience of this part of Chelsea. The vibe is relaxed and upmarket; the shops have. approachable, helpful staff; the quality of goods on offer is extremely high. The area is incredibly well-served and we are very lucky to live amongst it all.

There aren’t many playgrounds and it’s a bit sketchy

Transport

There are lots of buses like the 37 however this can get cramped at times. Rush hour is a pain and there aren’t enough night buses

Community

Some students here and there, a lot of couples and a large number of families. There are also some company holders and a few investors in the area

It is a very fun and there are lots of pubs for me to drink at with my mates. There are some good restaurants, as well as a classic Maccy Ds and that
