I love living in this area. It's pretty clean and quiet and properties are generally well maintained. Schools are good, the open spaces accessible and the charm of the local shopping streets together with the transport links is what brings people here. Many people keep dogs, even the mess is minimal although occasional owners are careless with their little black sacks. The commons do attract dog walkers however there is a limit to how many dogs can be walked at any one time.
Transport
Transport links are excellent, with Clapham Junction a short bus ride or within walking distance and the Northern Line close by. Buses are frequent and with a range of destinations, it is easy to get about, however they are often busy . Santander cycle docking stations are in the area. Traffic is a pain however, sometimes it is necessary for us to use our cars. Many residents choose to cycle, there are many official cycle routes.
Community
Our street is a combination of rentals and owners, with families and young professionals mainly. Although there is a broad age range of residents. Parking is by permit Monday to Friday although it can still be tricky to find a parking spot near our homes. The bin collection service is exceptional with operatives extremely helpful and friendly. The street lighting is good. Residents do know each other and this can only lead to improved security. Anti social behaviour is minimal .
Amenities
The range and quality of local shops is amazing, as with the bars and restaurants. Northcote Road is a great place to shop , with smaller shops including independent businesses and chains and a street market at the end of the week and at weekends. Webbs Rd is also great to visit with specialist shops including, lingerie, sound systems, gallery to name but a few. There are also hairdressers and beauty therapists, more than one choice of each. In both streets the quality of coffee in the independent cafes is exceptional. This is a very friendly, family orientated area. The green spaces are vast and very well used by families and those seeking physical activity. Both Clapham and Wandsworth Commons have active groups of local volunteers who help with the upkeep of both spaces.

On first arrival into our neighbourhood, we delivered handwritten cards to our neighbours and they came back with homemade cupcakes. That's what this neighbourhood is for me - everyone has been a dream. I moved from York to here and I think this neighbourhood has been far friendlier than York's! My favourite quality is the access to the Common as I've been benefitting from the abundance of green spaces, especially in lockdown. In terms of the neighbourhood, the housing blocks are a little older, but kept up well, and the restaurants are trendy while keeping their originality and uniqueness. It's so safe and I've never felt threatened or in danger while walking home, due to the abundance of restaurants and the well-lit road.
Transport
Situated incredibly close to bus routes, and almost immediately on the Northern line, with the nearest tube stop (Clapham South) right there and Balham's train station only down the road, it's so accessible you may as well be in Central London. The bike routes are well mapped out and clearly painted as blue and are respected by pedestrians and cars. I've been able to get home with ease in the middle of rush hour, at the current 10pm rush, and at 3am when needed. As it's super accessible, it does come with a main road which does provide somewhat ambient noise (squint and the rush of traffic might sound like the sea) but it's worth it for the accessibility.

In terms of parking, I've purchased a visitors permit for when my parents came and they were able to find a parking spot easily, but can't speak to regular permits. There always seems to be spaces though! Bin collections are frequent and on time, can't complain. The only anti-social behaviour I've noticed is the foxes (but for them, that's social!) as there hasn't been any noticeable noise or disturbances. The noise from the road is the only bother, but hey, we live in London so what's new?

Our area is one of the best I've ever lived in - situated between Clapham Common and Balham, we have an incredible variety and selection of shops, bars, restaurants and large parks. Within a short walking distance are at least 4 gorgeous parks, so ideal for walks with family, friends, or your canine companion (or feline if you're feeling quirky). Balham has an amazing selection of EVERYTHING, with Hildreth Street Market blooming with plant and flower shops and serving fresh fruit and vegetables and a range of cafes and restaurants. If you want to bring a friend out somewhere, bring them to Balham.

Connections are fine, not something I have an issue with, I tend to avoid public transport when I can, but when I do get it it really is not so bad and trains are frequent

At weekends it can be loud and noisey and people feel like its OK to leave their thrash behind and leave the streets a state. the direct neighbours are fine its more the passing drinking crowd.
Amenities
You can find everything you need, but there are too many lower end take-aways and stores and not enough bespoke boutiques and cocktail bars, its all a bit laddish and beer focused.
