Overview of SW13 9JX, Barnes High Street, London

Becasue I walk dogs, I most like the open spaces, the woodland, the paths along the river, the friendliness of other dog walkers. I wouldn't call it 'trndy' here but certainly affluent. Very suitable for pets and children and, compared to other places I've lived, very safe.

Transport

Barnes and Barnes Bridge train stations get you anywhere you need to go. Plenty of choices of buses taking you into Hammersmith or Putney or Richmond if you need the tube. I've never needed a car here as everywhere is so easy to access via public transportation.

Community

I'e lived here for many years and have never had a crime issue. Parking is fine (we have CPZ now) and my neighbours are all respectful of each other's spaces. Mostly owners here, very few renters. More families than couples.

Amenities

Barnes is a beautiful area. Although close to central London and well-served by trains and buses, it has the atmosphere of a village and there is a genuine sense of community here. Something about crossing over Hammersmith Bridge, you do feel very removed from the stress and grit of the city.

The area is new and doesn’t need regeneration and has a lot of young couples.

Transport

Rush hour is at 8 am and 5 pm and there can be a lot of traffic but buses come regularly and So do trains so it is good.

Community

The street is mostly private houses of home owners and a lot of families so it is friendly with no noise.

Amenities

The particular local Area that is popular is Westfield and it has all the shops you need and you don’t need to travel fat to get to it.
