The area is a great inner London suburb, and generally feels very safe. Good for children and dogs with a wide availability of open space and play areas. Not so good for cats as traffic is a problem in the area. The area has become more upmarket recently, but cannot really be described as trendy, it seems more like the sort of area people move to when tired of Battersea or Clapham. It does feel a bit like the last stop for transient residents between inner(ish) London and commuterville, though many then actually go no further having found an area that is a good compromise between the two.
Transport
Good mix of rail and bus connectivity. Tube is a little bit of hike away in Southfields. Range of bus destinations a bit limited.
Community
Swaffield road has a great local feel, with a nice mix of neighbours. Can be a bit of a rat run for traffic and prone to flooding at the corner with Garratt lane. It is however a nice road to live on, and generally quiet.
Amenities
Having lived here for over 15 years, I'd say it's a wonderful place to be. From genuine local pubs like the Jolly Gardeners and Old Sergeant, to great local eateries like Girasole (a great Italian) and Green Curry there's always a lot of choice when going out. King George's park offers plenty of green space, and with Southside shopping centre just down the road, there is plenty of indoor activity as well. There is a good mix of public and private gyms (Nuffield Health and the Wandle leisure centre respectively,) and local schools have a great reputation. There are main branches of Sainsbury's and Waitrose within walking distance, and a variety of convenience stores so that groceries are always within easy reach. One thing that does puzzle me, is does any area need quite as many barbers as you can find down Garratt lane.

The area is definitely on the up with new houses being built and old 1960's buildings that had fallen into disrepair have now gone. Great broadband coverage. The roads could do with some upgrades but this is being seen to.
Transport
Earlsfield has good links to London and Wimbledon. It's quite a long walk to a tube station from my location about 35 minutes, but a bus will get you there quickly. Wandsworth Common is not served very well for buses, however a walk down the hill will get you to Garratt Lane where there are plenty of bus routes to Putney and Tooting. Traffic can be an issue on Trinity road leading down to Tooting Bec, so is best avoided at busy times. Other pinch points are Garratt Lane at Earlsfield going towards Wandsworth town centre, this gets very busy at school run times.

I love living on my street, it's quiet, we have a huge communal green that is used regularly by residents and there is a strong sense of community on our road. Free parking on the road outside our property. Traffic noise is minimal

We have a fantastic range of independent cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area surrounding Earlsfield. Added to this great schools a library and train links to central London and Wimbledon make it an ideal place to live. Local community groups thrive in the area owing to the village feel of this small area of SW18. The open spaces of Wandsworth Common are only a short walk away to enjoy the fresh air.

The high street is amazing, there are a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. However the block where I live, the entrance is very dirty, lifts smell of urine. Incidents of arson, luckily picked up very quickly. Just waiting to move out ASAP
