Overview of SW18 3JJ, Lyford Road, London

I find my local area a really great place to live. People are friendly and there is so much to do. Loads of lovely walks and green spaces. Lots of families and children but also some cool bars for younger residents. Only down side is because it’s London the house prices are very expensive. We think one day we will have to move as our family grows as it’s unlikely we’ll be able to afford a bigger house in the same area.

Transport

The trains come in and out of Earlsfield station very regularly. (Every 2 minute) so it’s easy to get into central london. It’s also easy to get out of London as Clapham Junction is close by and goes to loads of different places. There are loads of cycle lanes and traffic is never too bad if you have a car. Parking can sometimes be a bit of a nightmare but the buses are good so you don’t really need one.

Community

On my street it’s mostly young couples. Some with children, some without. Noise has never been an issue and everyone is friendly. Bin collections are regular and there’s no traffic noise. Because the houses are quite close together, you can sometimes hear garden parties on a Summer’s evening but people having fun has never bothered me.

Amenities

I really like living in Earlsfield. There are loads really nice local restaurants such as Well Kneaded for pizza, Nazmins (Indian) and Il Girasole (Italian) There are loads of really great Youngs pubs. Leather Bottle has a great garden and the Halfway House does a top Sunday Roast next to the fire. Wandsworth Common is a really nice big green space with restaurants and supermarkets nearby for takeaway food and drinks. It’s also super close to Southside shopping centre and a massive Sainsbury’s for all shopping needs. The trains leave Earlsfield station very regularly (every 2 minutes) so it’s easy to get into central London. Since moving here, I’ve met lots of friendly people and have joined a local netball club. I really recommend it.

My area is trendy and lively and the people are friendly. It went through a recent period of regeneration so is a high quality area. suitable for families and relatively safe from my experience

Transport

TFL is a good service and you can get pretty much anywhere in London from my home through buses or tubes- although tube stations are quite a long walk from my house. These services come very often and are reliable for the most part, traffic and cleanliness or a lot of rush during rush hours are issues but they are expected in London.

Community

My street is a nice place to live with good neighbours and respectable social behaviour and an average amount of traffic for greater london. mainly families live here and it’s a friendly environment. parking availability isn’t an issue for residents and bin collection is regular.

Amenities

Wandsworth common is a 2 minute walk from my house- a beautiful big open green space with trees, benches, paths, kiosks and cafes and a playground as well as small lakes. It’s a lively area so there’s also a large selection of different authentic cuisines and bars and shops a little distance from my house.
