Most people take great care of their front gardens and most of the houses are very pretty and well looked after. There are gardening awards that are run locally and people take pride in their front gardens and put up posters about littering. Area is suitable for pets and children - there is a vet on the high street and many gps around. The area is super safe and has a low crime rate. I always feel safe when out and about on my own. The best part about living here is the open spaces, restaurants, shops and general facilities.
Transport
Cannot comment on traffic as have only lived here during Covid but it has never been an issue. Travel links are great with overground from earlsfield to Waterloo or our into Surrey. Also the tube on Southfields high street is the district line which takes you to London and out to Wimbledon. They often run works on both lines but usually one is running. There are also great bus links and it is easy to get to nice places on foot that are nearby. The trains are as clean as most of the trains in the country....

Parking can be tricky and you cannot always park near your house. You also have to get a permit from the council which is around £200 for a year and wasn’t easy to obtain. Bins are collected every Thursday - no complaints other than it can be hard to get the council to send out recycling bags when you need them and again have to go on the website to apply for them or pick them up from the office. It is super quiet where we live not much traffic and mainly families and professional couples leave nearby. There is a good mix of renters and owners.

I love living in Southfields as it has so much nearby. You have Earlsfield station which takes you into Waterloo and has tons of great pubs, restaurants and food shops outside the station. We are a short walk from Wimbledon tennis courts and Wimbledon Park which has a boating lake and golf club. There is also Wimbledon village which is a 30 min walk away where there are great restaurants like the Ivy and Giggling Squid. Also some great charity shops. In Southfields itself you have the district line which takes you into central and into Wimbledon. Also Southfields high street has a gym, m&s food, gails bakery, french patisserie and Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s local and a post office! The area is also super pretty and people adopt the soil around where the trees are planted along the pavement and put in flowers and ornaments. I feel super safe walking around Southfields and happily go to the gym at whatever time I like morning or evening. There are lots of open spaces as there is Wandsworth and wimbledon common fairly nearby. There is also Southfields shopping centre which has lots of great shops: Waterstones, hotel chocolat, new look, boots, Superdrug. It also has fast food restaurants and a cinema. Parking is a bit of a pain as you have to get a permit from the council which is tricky and costs around £200 a year. Close access to the A3 and M4 which is great for getaways plus easy to get into central London. I love living here!!

I really enjoy living in Earlsfield and I think the area is great for young families with children. It also has decent choice of places to go out, and the nights at a couple of the pubs turn to dance floors. It isn't pretentious or too upmarket, just feels like a friendly area to live in.
Transport
The Earlsfield train is super fast to get to Waterloo (12min) and it usually comes every couple of minutes. From experience of other slower stations, the fact that there are so many trains makes it much easier to commute in rush hour. The busses in the area are good, there is a quick bus to Tooting tube station if you want the Northern Line. There are Santander cycles near southside shopping centre, but it would be nice if there was a docking point nearer Earlsfield station.

The street is very quiet and there usually is decent parking space. The bin collection is sufficient. Most of the houses are occupied by owners, a lot of young families, some renters who are mostly young professionals. There is a countryside feel in the gardens of the terraced houses as the area is quiet.

Earlsfield has a great range of restaurants and shops. The restaurants are mostly independent as opposed to chains, and for me that is extremely important. There are two main supermarkets near the station, and the large Sainsbury's near Southside is very convenient. I very much enjoy the local butchers, who have a selection of other delicatessen in addition to meat. Southside shopping centre has most chain stores, and a Cineworld cinema. There are multiple very nice pubs in the area as well, a few with large outdoor spaces. King George's park is a great walk to get to Southside shopping centre from Earlsfield, but Wimbledon park is a bit nicer for a walk. The only thing missing in the area is a late night cocktail bar - but it looks like there might be one opening shortly.

Wimbledon Park Underground station is about 15-20 minutes of a walk from the area I live in. Unfortunately, there are no bus stops near the proximity of this location. This means to travel outwards, I need to walk to the station all the time, which is somewhat of a hassle.

There is a convenience store maybe 3 minutes away, which is pretty convenient if I say so myself. With Wimbledon Park just a couple minutes away, I can socialise with friends around the area.

About 6 roads down, I can find all the essential things that I need. Such as restaurants, the supermarket Sainsbury’s, and bars. For children, there is Wimbledon Park Primary School, which is a bonus for parents moving into the area.
