Overview of SW7 2QT, South Kensington

Overall this is a great community to raise a child. It feels like a small town where everyone knows each other. There is a countable number of minorities in the area and everyone is up in everyone else's business. It is so safe that people can walk alone at all times and not have to be worried. Very active community.  However, the bid drawback are the tourists. They, too, are everywhere. I hate tourists,so it definitely gets to me. I try to hang around outside towards the evening, when most tourists and pop-up salesmen are gone, and it's emptier, quieter, and an overall much nicer area. At the end of the day though, these are very minor things in the scheme of it all. It's really a wonderful area, and I think I'd still live here if I could do it all over again - it's just so accessible and so full of life and rich with culture - it is very, very London, in the best way possible.  

Transport

I use the circle line to Farringdon and it is normally a pleasant journey and very fast. The rly rains are not noisy and they arrive every 1-6 mins. I get that the underground is efficient and nice (or at least way nicer than in many other countries) but it’s still not good enough to be that expensive. Each journey is £2.40 if you don’t have a daily pass or something like that, so avoid it if you can; the bus is cheaper and still nice.

Community

I live right very close to Hyde Park. It's huge and beautiful. I love the vibe and atmosphere of my street. I wish housing was more reasonable in size and pricing. My other complaint is that, not unlike many areas of large cities, it is often dirtier than I think it deserves because of the nightlife scene.  On the upside, my street has many bus stops and transportation is very easy which is a plus.

Amenities

It is very chill, relaxing, and convenient. It's also very safe. You can find restaurants, diners, supermarkets, and anything that you need basically here. But it's not that ideal for shopping or entertainment, of course, because of the high prices. There is a lot of turn over in terms of restaurants and shops due to rising rent levels but overall the stores are of high quality. 

I like its very historic and beautiful. The architecture is really beautiful. Definately suitable for children and pets as Hyde park is just minutes away.

Transport

Very close, there's tube and bus stops. Service is quite reliable, although can be crowded at times. The tube stop is too crowded.

Community

It's a very safe and beautify area to live in. very historic. It's very close to Hyde park, great place to exercise and walk the dog. minimum antisocial behaviour. Can be quite crowded as lots of students and toursits during the day.

Amenities

very busy, very safe, buildings are very pretty. Lots of restaurants and museaum. Lots of popular areas nearby, such as the natural history museums, science museum, V&A. It's a historic area which is very popular with tourists, definately a must visit place in London. Convenience store and supermarkets are missing, which makes living in this area a little tricky as need to walk a bit of distance to get groceries.
