Likes: Central location and ease of access to other areas. Everything required on a daily basis is close to hand. High Street has a reasonably buzzing, young, trendy vibe especially at night. Area generally accommodates most age ranges. Dislikes: The overall feeling and look of the area is that it is in desperate need of a major regeneration programme. There is great disparity between certain parts. Areas that have a high concentration of renters are dirty, run down, neglected, look and feel like inner city ghettos. Other parts where private ownership is high are cleaner, better maintained and look ‘posh.’
Transport
Good variety and selection of transport links including buses, tubes, overground stations and cycle routes. Generally all are reasonably reliable, however rush hour brings great overcrowding especially where tube service is concerned. Clapham Common station which is heavily used, cannot cope with normal average rush hour capacity always leading to queues extending right outside the station.
Community
Good aspects: Fairly central location making it easy to access other areas. Good location for work availability. Good transport links and good variety of local amenities. Clapham Common offers a pleasant open space with some leisure activities. Bad aspects: Area is too densely populated often resulting in overall poor quality of life. Outside areas are either neglected or poorly maintained. Anti social behaviour is common and insufficiently challenged. Excessive noise pollution. Parking is problematic due to closeness to high street and Clapham Common. Residents are mainly families and renters.
Amenities
A mixed variety of local shops on a buzzing high street, including many good quality independent traders. These predominantly include pubs, bars, restaurants, eateries. There are also chemists, post office, stationery shop, supermarkets, coffee shops, carpet shop, hardware, DIY shops, library and gyms. Clapham Common itself is an extremely popular open space used for organised events as well as by locals. There is a lack of affordable clothes shops in this area.

They are alright, however I find my area lacking fast food restaurants such as Chicken and chips, Kebab, etc. I would say the overall quality is alright however there is a lack of variety when it comes to it overall.

Transport links are great though the buses are always busy in the morning and you have to wait for a few, sometimes they don't open the doors. Could be better in that sense. A lot of noise from traffic on Wandsworth road which is a very negative side.

There are a lot of shops around which is quite good, not that many bars around Wandsworth Road Station but Clapham isn't that far.
