I just like the sense of community in the area like as long as you’re an outgoing person it’s not uncommon to walk down the street and say hello to the shopkeepers or meet neighbours down the road and have a smile. A lot of people know each other in the area and it’s just welcoming.
Buses run through the main street and there is a train station nearby so it’s very easy to get around and get to where you need to go. There are many routes you can take from the main street and many bus options in the area. And as a plus a lot of the buses are night buses as well, so getting back into the area at night is never an issue. Sometime there is roadworks going on so there may be certain parts of the roads are closed off and this can impact where you can get the next bus from. But this is rare and it doesn’t impact that much because you normally just have to walk to the next bus stop it’s never the whole road.
We have a mixture of owners on the street but there are some buildings that have renters with families and couples. My street in particular is very friendly I know all my neighbours and I’ve never had problems with the owners. There is a peaceful Street sometimes we do get some people who are travelling through instead of going onto the main road that bring about anti social behaviour, but is rare. It may be a negative for someone who likes a quiet neighbourhood. But yearly the Notting Hill carnival will affect someone who is living in this area. Because it’s close to the main stage a lot of people be walking through the streets, there will be littering and noise pollution because of how close we are to the carnival, so for two days every single year that is something that you need to be conscious of. But I counterpoint to that is that the government is aware of these neighbouring streets around carnival and often we have police officers standing at the ends and beginning of our street with the horses so we don’t have a lot of problems like we used to.But I counterpoint to that is that the government is aware of these neighbouring streets around carnival and often we have police officers standing at the ends and beginning of our street with the horses so we don’t have a lot of problems like we used to Bin collection is twice a week and parking is always good on our road!
We have 3 main stores in the area, an Iceland, Sainsbury's and Co-op surrounded by small businesses. Our street is very friendly! We have a local pub, church and hair shop and options of restaurants. When living in the area, you get a true sense of togetherness.
It is a great place for children with a lot of clubs and provisions available.
I feel safe living in my area. It is a great place for children with a lot of clubs and provisions available. It's also great for pet owners. Cats have secure access to the back gardens and dog walkers can use the park with specific exercise area as well as enjoy walks around the area or alongside the canal. The area is popular and up and coming. It's within an easy access to central London but doesn't feel too busy or noisy.
Transport links are great with convenient bus routes as well as two underground and overground stations within an easy reach.
Residential parking is available on my street with plenty of paid parking spaces for everyone. Bin collections are regular and the street benefits from the lack of big wheelie bins on people's doorsteps. The homeownership is mixed with both owners and renters, mostly occupied by families.
My area is mainly residential but with an easy access to high street and a big supermarket. There are plenty of restaurants, both chain and independent ones. My immediate area could probanly benefit from a nice coffee shop. The open spaces are great, with a small, well maintained park in the middle.
The atmosphere is not terribly pleasant and I would say that this is one of the poorer areas in London.
The atmosphere is not terribly pleasant and I would say that this is one of the poorer areas in London. However, it is almost central & is not terribly far from oxford street & Regent’s Park. I would not say that the area is suitable for children as it is not very safe.
There are many public transport options and a tube station (Queen’s Park) very close & easy to use. The cleanliness of these public transport options are average however they are normally on time & working.
Anti social behaviour is incredibly common in this area unfortunately. Traffic noise is not very common & the area is quiet in general unless groups of teenagers are present. There are regular & good bun collections but rarely recycling.
There are a range of local shops in w10 however many of these shops aren’t very aesthetically pleasing or clean & organised. There are also a few restaurants however these too are below average. There are a few open spaces in the area such as a park and an outdoor children’s playground.
I love the big shopping market
