Overview of W12 0PG, Thorpebank Road, White City

I love living here, it’s central yet quiet and feels safe. There is a friendly atmosphere where people smile at one another in the street and neighbours say hello and stop for a chat if you decide to engage with them. The area is upmarket and more investment into renovating properties and improving the local area has been evident over recent years. It’s a wonderful area for kids and pets with Wormholt Park seconds away, Hammersmith Park (complete with lake & Japanese garden) a few mins away, and numerous other parks nearby. There’s a recently renovated theatre, tv studio where you can watch filmings & events, Soho House, Shepherd’s Bush Empire hosting music acts, and Pergola rooftop bar. The gardens of the homes back onto each other creating a huge green space for animals to safely roam. The gardens are sheltered and plants grow well. Chiswick, Hammersmith, the river, Notting Hill and Holland Park are all extremely close if you want to venture out of the immediate area.

Transport

Amazing transport links with 4 tube stations (central & Hammersmith and City lines), 1 overground station, lots of bus stops, and cycle lanes on main roads. Driving is also easy with the A40 taking you into central London or out to the M40, M1 quickly. The M25 is also easily accessible.

Community

- easy to find parking spots on the street - regular rubbish and recycling collections - friendly neighbours who look out for each other and their properties - street cleaners keep the area clean and free from weeds - neighbours have planted flowers beneath the roadside trees on some roads - a mix of home owners and renters. There are couples, professionals, families and retirees - quiet area - feels like a village yet is so central

Amenities

There are a wide range of shops catering to every need: a local corner shop with friendly staff who remember you and your preferences, Sainsbury’s, wonderfully fresh fruit, veg & meat on Uxbridge road, Shepherd’s Bush Market and Westfield mall. There’s also a range of gastropubs, good brunch spots, restaurants (many which deliver too) and bars nearby.

My street in particular is excellent, really familiar and safe. But the atmosphere changes completely when you go to Uxbridge. Really noisy, dirty and the people mostly don’t respect the social distancing.

Transport

The transport is one of the good points of the area as you have many access. Car would be the more convenient for my area in particular, but not far from many bus stops. More bike stations would be good.

Community

My street in particular is excellent. The neighbours are kind and we respect each other. No traffic noise really, a really calm street. Parking is always available, Bon collection is according to the schedule. Most of the neighbour are families and owners.

Amenities

The range and quality of the local shops is ok. I mean, you find what you need in general basis but if you’re looking for something in particular, it’s complicated. There are no boutique shops, just regular and off licenses shop. Lost of Indian and Lebanese shops. The open spaces are all the time busy, it’s ok for a normal situation, not so appropriate for this context. Amenities are missing like boutiques stores with food from other part of the world for example, to have more variety.
