I love the ability to get to anywhere in a short amount of time from my house using the fast train line. Horn lane and the roads surrounding it, however, are in desperate need of regeneration and it looks a bit run down. It is suitable for pets due to Springfield park as well as kids as there are many local schools one being Derwent water primary school.

Acton main line station is less than a 5 minute walk from me and is a very efficient way to get around. As well as the train station the 266 bus and the e3 bus stop along horn lane which is also useful. Traffic can get very awful and horn lane gets packed. However I believe the new train line will help this problem.
Community
My street is very long and most people have driveways so parking availability is never a problem. As I said before horn lane can get packed with cars during rush hour and this can get quite noisy. There are a range of people living on my road from elderly couples who have been here for many years to young couples and families.

Horn lane is my closest area for amenities. It has many food shops such as the co-op, Sainsbury’s local and the spa. However I feel as thought bars and restaurants are missing from this area as they bring a sense of community which we do not have much of. Springfield peak is my nearest open space which is perfect for walking the dogs and taking my kids to.

Acton has the most number of stations in London. We have over ground and underground links all of which mean you can get almost anywhere in London, really easily. With the new cross rail due to open within a few years, we are so lucky that central London will be closer than every. Cycle routes have improved over the past few years and should continue to do so. There is a great cycle path down the side of the A40 which speeds up journeys going west. Buses run well here too. There is a great service from Acton to Hammersmith which is sadly due to change at some point soon. Often car traffic can be bad on Churchfield road especially due to the level crossing. However, if you time it right you can avoid the crossing being down.

My street is quietly pleasant. Luckily it is not a cut through meaning traffic flow is low. The residents are mainly elderly couples or families with a mix of teenage children and young children. We have great street parties and know all the neighbours both on our street and on the ones parallel. Noise from neighbours is rare. Gardens are close together so in the summer you might hear more noise. However, it is never unpleasant. Parking is alway easy along our street and parallel ones. And visitors can park at the end of the street using the app Pay By Phone, very easily. Bins are collected weekly - but alternating between recycling and refuse. They are collected on time each week. No complaints there!

We have lovely privately owned shops and restaurants, pubs and cafes in our area. The very popular Churchfield Road is home to most of these. There is a wonderful pancake cafe called Mr Bake Me. Run by a greek chap called Athan. This is popular with the children and adults alike. Then we have a great bakery called Lavellis- perfect for coffee and cake or a sandwich or freshly baked bread. Heart and Soul is a wonderful flower shop where you get a great bunch of flowers for really reasonable prices. For a posher dinner date we have Fed and Watered which is a very upmarket and modern British family run restaurant with gourmet style food and a Master Chef finalist chef in charge. I can walk to 2 lovely large green open spaces from my home both with great children's play facilities.
