The area is very suitable for families with little kids and pets. Chiswick has many parks (the most beautiful one is Chiswick House and Gardens) where people can hang out and spend time with their little ones. It is a pretty safe area and a quiet place to live. We have a few market stalls along Chiswick High Road, there also is a main food market on Dukes Meadows. What I enjoy the most about Chiswick is the feeling of being like a in small town, where people know and help one another. Along the main road, we have many shops (coffee shops, pubs, restaurants, take away places, etc.) that make Chiswick a nice place to hang out with friends and family members. The big "Sainsburys" supermarket, close to Chiswick Park tube station, provides everything we need for our weekly grocery shopping. In my opinion, we are missing a big "Tesco" supermarket and the famous "Superdrugs" store. Also, the area with vacant shops (such as, ex "Valentina", ex "Blockbuster", etc.) in front of the lovely Turnham Green Church park must be renovated and possibly filled with new shops.
Transport
Very good transport service all around the area. I live in proximity of the 94 bus main stop, The 94 bus also offers a night service, which is great for me as I get this bus to go to work, pretty early in the morning (about 5:00am) and I find the service is very reliable. Very few times I have had problems with it (one of those times, the bus just broke down, so it was no-one's fault). At that time of the day, it runs every 15 minutes (normally, every 7 minutes). Buses are generally clean, they have been changed into new and more technological buses a while ago, now we can also charge our mobile phone while we are on the bus, as there are USB plugs in the lower deck. At about 3 minutes walk, I can find the Chiswick Park tube station, served by District Line. In terms of cleanliness, space and air/con or heating, the District Line is one of the best tube lines in London, in my opinion. I get the District Line when I go out with friends, to get to places quickly. It is not a night service, but Piccadilly Line is, and it stops at Turnham Green - which is still a few minutes walk through the park, to my place. I am extremely pleased with the transport service provided.

I live in front of the Acton Green park, on Acton Lane. I find the area pretty safe, I've walked through the park in the night, going back home, and nothing has happened to me. The park is always super clean, the grass is cut regularly and bins are never full. I love to spend time in the park. Chiswick is a peaceful place, many families live along the park. I live in a flat share, with people from different nationalities, and I am a renter. We all are professional. The area I live in has not too many traffic noises, just a bit in the morning, when people go to work by car. I've heard of many robbery attempts in Chiswick High Road, in proximity of Marks & Spencer store, so I would definitely intensify the police control over that area. Bad side: as I live in a flat and we have no space for recycling bins, we have to leave our recycling rubbish outside, just in front of the main door (it is collected every Monday morning - even on Bank Holidays - and the service is excellent), this makes the access to our building very unpleasant and it also attracts foxes and mice.
Amenities
Wide range of coffee shops along Chiswick High Road, many great pubs and a few restaurants. The most popular area in Chiswick High Road is close to the famous pizza place "Franco Manca", there is a nice space where it is possible to hang out and have a delicious ice cream at "Oddono's". The missing amenities, in my opinion, are beauty places and more pharmacies. I would love to have a specific store in Chiswick High Road (possibly next to "Boots") and that would be "Superdrugs". What I would definitely change or improve in the main street would be the area in front of Turnham Green Church, where many vacant stores ruin the beauty of the park nearby.
What I love about Chiswick is its green spaces, the proximity to the river, and the architecture.
What I love about Chiswick is its green spaces, the proximity to the river, and the architecture. I love that it is cosmopolitan, both in its population and the services available. It’s relatively clean and it feels safe. The state primary schools are good to brilliant, but maybe secondary school Chiswick School needs a little help. There are good private schools. Hounslow and Ealing Boroughs seem all too keen on selling space for ugly advertising towers and high rise tower blocks, ruining what makes Chiswick so special in the process.
Transport
Chiswick has an excellent bus service along the High Road, and some key routes in nearby places. I feel this service is not as good as it has been in the recent past. There are 3 tube stations in the area, all served by the District line; Turnham Green being the main station. Piccadilly line stops there only late late evenings, but it would be great if that service was extended to cover all hours, as this station is extremely busy. There are two Overground stations too, and Chiswick railway station, of course, making Chiswick a very well served area. Sadly the A4 cuts Chiswick in half, and is often very congested, causing big problems.

My quiet street is very nice. We have a great community spirit with email- and WhatsApp groups to help each other. The street is predominantly populated by families who own their house. Parking is unusually good, the layout of the street works in our favour. You can usually park outside or near your house, but there are not many spare places at any time. The bin situation is very poor indeed, on this Ealing Borough side of Chiswick. A couple of years ago the decision was made to cut the rubbish and recycling collection from weekly to every two weeks. We were issued with two massive wheelie bins for this purpose, and the look of Chiswick was drastically made so much worse. Most front gardens now look awful, they are simply too small to house these industrial sized bins, and, sitting in your front rooms, you can no longer look out into your gardens, the bins are in the way. I am gutted that so much money has been spent on this venture, to save (?) money long term. I know that many people still have to take their cars to Sainsbury’s recycling centre, because bi-monthly collection isn’t enough, and so adding to congestion and pollution. I also wonder what happened to all the old, mainly plastic, bins. Were they recycled?
Amenities
Chiswick has a great range of shops, normally. What made Chiswick stand out for many years were lots of brilliant independent shops. W4 has been blessed with a huge range of quality restaurants, and nice pubs; it’s been said Chiswick High Road boasts more restaurants than any other high street. During 2018 things started to change, with some shops closing, and by the end of 2019 many shop- and restaurant premises were empty. Even long established shops and chains had gone. Chiswick still seems to have fared better in this respect than its neighbours. On the other hand, the parks of Chiswick have improved massively in the last ten years, both in therms of planting, and in play equipment for children and teenagers, the playground on Acton Green being a wonderful example. The walking paths along the river are also extremely popular. There are places to play football, netball and tennis. We could do with more public toilets and drinking fountains.
Very low quality restaurants and shops in acton high street
The area ig improving. Still drug problems and drug dealers. I believe ot could become a trendy area due to its closeness to chiswick in xase the average quality of amenties improves and drugs problem related will be handle
Transport
The area is well linked by tube and bus. Many lines available and all well connected with central london and the airport of Heathrow. I do not cycle therefore I am not able to give any info about that.

Social behaviour problems, been reported many times but no intervention yet. Mostly owners in my area and young families. I don't drive so no udea about parking availability. No traffic noise
Amenities
Very low quality restaurants and shops in acton high street. Some exceptions such as the pub called George & dragon and cafe such ass the Coffee house. No quality supwrmarkets such as waitrose, marks & Spencer, whole food or any other indipendent organic option.
I really recommend the area to live as everything is outside your doorstep.
