Parents and children can sometimes be entitled and overbearing though not too much. As mentioned, the Lane can be a bit twee with the local mums congregating in matching Cath Kidston etc but they're harmless. The area is quite upmarket, very leafy and green and peaceful and there is a good sense of community especially round Autumn and Christmas. Definitely suitable for both children and pets, with plenty of green open spaces to run around. I certainly feel safe of an evening. I don;t think there is much need of regeneration though I would imagine some developer will always find a way.
Transport
Brilliant transport options. Tube, overland, national rail and buses. Excellent bike routes through leafy parks and cycle highways. Ealing Broadway particularly well connected for transport with District, Central and GWR trains into town and heathrow. Bus routes take you anywhere, whether into town or out to Uxbridge, Brentford, Hounslow, Ruislip, Wembley, Harrow. District line is a little erratic lately, and you can find yourself sitting in a train in the platform for 20 minutes if hou mistime it in the morning. GWR fast and regular into Paddington. Buses are regular and reliable, sometimes busy but never really packed to the gills. Traffic tends to be concentrated on the main roads, A40, Great West Road etc plus the usual build up round schools and stations during rush hour.

Fantastic street to live on, i'm very lucky. There tend to be mostly owners in the large single occupancy family homes round here, with some renters in the 1940s/50s blocks of art deco ish flats scattered around. There are more of the family homes being converted into luxury flats of late but this doesn't seem to detract from the area as yet. Very little traffic noise, school drop off can be a pain unless you're walking or cycling but it always will be. Street cleaning is done regularly and the bin collections are quick and quiet. There was a spate of anti social behaviour some months ago, with a spate of bicycles being stolen, catalytic converters being removed under broad daylight and local school kids being a bit noisy but really they were in high spritis rather than anything truly untoward. I feel safe here and i feel safe walking home at night in winter.

Lovely area, great little lane for shopping though can be quite 'twee' and expensive. apart from that, there's a real sense of community and a village-y atmosphere. Just further down the other side of the hill is Ealing Broadway,which has the standard high street shops but also Dickens Yard with lovely independent cafes and restaurants. Lovely leafy areas and parks with tennis courts etc. All in all, a nice area.

Ealing Broadway station , it is served by the London Underground and national Rail on the Great Western Mainline . On the underground, it is one of three western terminal of the district line, the other being Ealing Common and central line. The station is currently being upgraded and expanded as part of the cross rail project. Ealing has an excellent bus service. TFL is responsible for planning and funding bus service in the borough.

Castle bar Road in Ealing is off Pitshanger lane. It is well connected to transport links, ie good bus service, local shops, co-op store. The area consists of residential houses , Victoria’s and double fronted Edwardian houses. Castle bar Road also have block of flats, some of the buildings are sheltered blocks. On the whole it is a very quite and desirable area with leafy surroundings.

Ealing has numerous pubs and restaurants located on the Mall, The Broadway and New Broadway forming part of the Uxbridge Road. Ealing has a theater on Mattock Lane. There are over 15 churches , historical buildings in Ealing. . It is a leafy West London suburb with lots of green spaces , local amenities and excellent transport connections. On the whole it a very desirable place to live.

We dont have enough public transport. We only have two bus lines and if anything happens in the road we have to walk quite a distance in order to catch it in the next closest place.

There aren't many options and the ones that do exist are a bit expensive. The food is average. The parks are quite nice though. I would say we are missing some type of fast food chain and a better supermarket.
