We purchased here as we couldn't afford elsewhere and I do love the flat. The size is so much more for our money than Chiswick or even Brentford. I do worry there are so many tower blocks going up in west london at the moment and while they look fine to start they soon begin to look like the slums of London. Like the old Acton towers by morrisons must have been nice in their hay day but who wants to live there now?! Zero curb appeal...its low cost, cant afford what we really want, housing. The new ones in Acton look like a student village and they all have super small appliances to make them seem bigger its ridiculous. And the walls are so thin. The best thing about our flat is how sturdy it is, built in 1935 and built to last. There are new flats being built by us that are 95% timber! Id say the area is good for pets and kids if you're not near Argyle road
Transport
There are a few buses that head toward ealing broadway from my area which is good as there are options. One is a night bus which is good. Argyle Road at night, particularly down toward West Ealing Broadway, isn't the place for a gal to be walking late at night. I had one car turn back to talk to me then pull up and 2 guys get out because they "wanted to talk". I wouldn't walk it alone again. We bought in the area for the crossrail as that would be great for my housemate to get to work but it just keeps getting delayed! It would also be better if the piccadilly line serviced ealing broadway.

Parking is really easy for what Ive seen in London. We have a first come first serve area but theres always street parking if needed. Bin collections are fine. As a large block we have joint bins, I like that set up. As already mentioned, Argyle road isnt the nicest after dark. I wouldnt say I feel safe in the area at night myself. I used to rent in Chiswick...w13 is no w4. I think its mostly couples in our flats. There are some older residents who have lived here for eons. I also think several are rented out but im not certain
Amenities
There's not much in the way of amenities in the midway from the broadway to hanger lane. A local shop like a tesco express would be great as I dont drive and its a 15 minute walk to a shop which isnt nice in the rain when you just need milk for a cuppa. The pubs nearby are super - thinking drayton and duke of kent, really lovely beer gardens. There's loads of green to look out at. I love the view across cleveland and pitshanger parks and drayton green has been fab during lockdown. Seems a good amount of buses though traffic on the approach to ealing broadway in the morning is usually so bad you're better off walking the last few stops.
The area is quite upmarket, very leafy and green and peaceful and there is a good sense of community especially round Autumn and Christmas.
Parents and children can sometimes be entitled and overbearing though not too much. As mentioned, the Lane can be a bit twee with the local mums congregating in matching Cath Kidston etc but they're harmless. The area is quite upmarket, very leafy and green and peaceful and there is a good sense of community especially round Autumn and Christmas. Definitely suitable for both children and pets, with plenty of green open spaces to run around. I certainly feel safe of an evening. I don;t think there is much need of regeneration though I would imagine some developer will always find a way.
Transport
Brilliant transport options. Tube, overland, national rail and buses. Excellent bike routes through leafy parks and cycle highways. Ealing Broadway particularly well connected for transport with District, Central and GWR trains into town and heathrow. Bus routes take you anywhere, whether into town or out to Uxbridge, Brentford, Hounslow, Ruislip, Wembley, Harrow. District line is a little erratic lately, and you can find yourself sitting in a train in the platform for 20 minutes if hou mistime it in the morning. GWR fast and regular into Paddington. Buses are regular and reliable, sometimes busy but never really packed to the gills. Traffic tends to be concentrated on the main roads, A40, Great West Road etc plus the usual build up round schools and stations during rush hour.

Fantastic street to live on, i'm very lucky. There tend to be mostly owners in the large single occupancy family homes round here, with some renters in the 1940s/50s blocks of art deco ish flats scattered around. There are more of the family homes being converted into luxury flats of late but this doesn't seem to detract from the area as yet. Very little traffic noise, school drop off can be a pain unless you're walking or cycling but it always will be. Street cleaning is done regularly and the bin collections are quick and quiet. There was a spate of anti social behaviour some months ago, with a spate of bicycles being stolen, catalytic converters being removed under broad daylight and local school kids being a bit noisy but really they were in high spritis rather than anything truly untoward. I feel safe here and i feel safe walking home at night in winter.
Amenities
Lovely area, great little lane for shopping though can be quite 'twee' and expensive. apart from that, there's a real sense of community and a village-y atmosphere. Just further down the other side of the hill is Ealing Broadway, which has the standard high street shops but also Dickens Yard with lovely independent cafes and restaurants. Lovely leafy areas and parks with tennis courts etc. All in all, a nice area.
it's mostly a residential area so it's safe.
Nothing really
Transport
We dont have enough public transport. We only have two bus lines and if anything happens in the road we have to walk quite a distance in order to catch it in the next closest place.
Community
Theres plenty of parking space it's mostly a residential area so it's safe. People behave well and the it's not very noisy
Amenities
There aren't many options and the ones that do exist are a bit expensive. The food is average. The parks are quite nice though. I would say we are missing some type of fast food chain and a better supermarket.
I love how safe, quiet and beautiful it is.
