I like the proximity to shops and various modes of transport. I like the parks and open spaces and that they are well maintained. The atmosphere is one of suburbia and freindliness on the whole. A community vibe as we have street parties in the summer. It is a safe area for pets and children and I would say it is upmarket.
Transport
Th transport links are really very good and one of the main reasons I moved to this area. There are plenty of regular buses taking you all over the borough and much further into and out of london. There is the West Ealing to Paddington rail line taking you into central london and the Heathrow connect taking you to the airport. if you don’t fancy the train there is the Piccadilly line tube taking you to the airport or into town for a bit of shopping. It can get very busy during rush hour especially with more people taking to their cars during the coronavirus pandemic but I rarely encounter long traffic jams. Soon we will have cross rail taking you across London much quicker than any other mode of transport.

I have a residents parking permit and find this greatly helps the parking situation. However it only covers 10-11am and 3-4pm on weekdays and this is problematic on Fridays and religious days. I live near a Hindu Temple which has a big weekly service on Fridays and this attracts a large amount of people from outside of the local area. This can be arduous when you are looking to park close to home after getting back from the supermarket with a large shop. Bin collection is reliable and street noise is kept down due to considerate neighbours. There is a great community vibe on my street with couples and families young and old. The street is made up of residents and renters and there are some students in a HMO but they are polite and respect the local residents.

There are a wide variety of local shops, from a local bakery, to lots of coffee shops to the usual big supermarkets such as Waitrose, Tesco’s, Sainsburys, Morrisons and a Co-op. West ealing has fruits shops offering fresh fruit and fish. There are also lots of nearby takeaways and restaurants to enjoy as well as lively pubs. Walpole and Lammas parks are well looked after large green spaces and are part of the Ealing Half Marathon route which is held every September. Dean gardens is a smaller local park. I would love to see a local cinema and hopefully this will be coming soon.

I am a user of public transport I can get pretty much everywhere as I need to but obviously receive the same frustrations as everyone does in the country with punctuality of such services my friends who drive always comment and complement the positioning of Ealing in terms of its location near to the M1 and M40

Living on my street is a mixture of students families couples and young professionals due to this diversity the general atmosphere is very easy-going and it’s easy to make friends

There is a huge range of everything in Ealing you never have to go far to get what you need however I would say that there is a lack of diversity in terms of price range as Ealing can be a very expensive place to live

I think w13 is lovely but there are areas that are very run down and in need of love TLC. Some areas attract a bad crowd and there is a lot of homelessness, particularly in West Ealing which is sad to see. W13 in general feels very safe however as a young woman in west ealing I do not feel quite so safe and always prefer to have company when running errands there.

Transport is generally good with piccadilly lines and the central line not far if you take the bus to ealing Broadway, there are a lot of bus routes as well that get you where you need to be. Some areas are hard to get to, namely south west and south of London. It would be great if there were more tube links to make make to city easier.

The range of bars and shops in w13 is really good although I would say lacking some cute, hip coffee shops and trendy bars. I think the area has lovely open spaces and beautiful parks - some more clothes/ farmers markets would be lovely
