I love how green it is, you can always hear the birds, there are loads of trees along the residential streets and nice parks for dogs/ recreation. I like that mostly families, young couples and retired people live here (ie no students/ people who aren't invested in their local area). I think there is a genuine community spirit. I do think there is some need for regeneration, particularly on the main roads and for amenities. I definitely wouldn't describe it as trendy; there needs to be more up-market bars, cafes and some shopping. However, there are some really nice Portuguese and Mediterranean cafes and food outlets, which adds to a sense of definition to the local area and community feel
Transport
Transport is excellent, there are a number of different tube and rail stations within 5-15 minutes walk. Lots of buses that are pretty regular. The streets themselves are incredibly dirty with a lot of litter and piles of fly-tipping, and dog mess left on the street, which makes walking anywhere unpleasant. There are plenty of cycle lanes and Santander bike stations. Roads are really busy during the working week, and residential roads are often used as cut-throughs in rush hour. Noise doesn't seem to be a problem too often.
Community
It's mostly families and working couples on my street. I find it to be really quiet and friendly. Thankfully it has a one-way system so is rarely used as a cut-through by traffic, making it even quieter and undisturbed by cars. There is often litter on the streets (there are no public bins) and the communal waste from the estate often spills over but is then not picked up. There is regular fly-tipping of furniture next to one of the communal bins. It is a really pet friendly area, which makes it feel very homely and friendly and build a community spirit. There can sometimes be noise from barking but it's short-lived. Someone does leave bread out for the pigeons which looks dirty and pigeons gathering then foul on the streets, and dogs go after the bread; I'd rather that was discouraged.

In my immediate area (Stockwell) there are lots of independent newsagents, chicken shops, a big supermarket, and a selection of budget gyms. A number of NHS GP surgeries, dentists, and vets are accessible, as well as a library. There are plenty of small-medium sized parks. Popular spots are the parks, but lots of people tend to congregate around newsagents or outside fast-food outlets. I think we could do with more coffee shops, more restaurants and more evening venues like nice bars rather than watering-hole pubs. I think there could be more spaces for teenagers and children to hang out. More art galleries/ creative spaces would be nice or a cinema/ theatre. There aren't any "highstreet" shops like fashion or homewares - you have to go to Clapham or Brixton. An outdoor market would be great (there is a farmers market in Oval but it's small and incredibly expensive). I don't think there are enough waste bins dotted along the streets. There are some lovely community gardening projects if you know where to look for them!

There are two tube stations round the corner that are easy to access with Brixton being wheelchair accessible rush hour can be a bit tricky but thankfully the staff are always kind and extremely helpful it is always as clean as can be I know the staff try there best and that's all anyone can ask for. There is a very wide range of busses thankfully takeing you all over London which is so very helpful.
Community
It is a really good area to live in and kind people sometimes is can be very loud with police sirens but that is understandable I think mainly family's and couples live on our street as well as a wonderful place called evolve housing and support that help young people with housing issue and what not. The social behaviour of some people can be quite nerve racking at times but I have never felt unsafe

There is a high range of shops near me as we are also so close to Brixton we have shop's ranging from Poundland to Sainsbury's and Morley's to TK MAX . All these shops and there workers help so much with in the community another thing I love about our area is the feel of community there are so many self started and self owned restraints and stalls that when you go out you really feel like your helping the community and the people around. I think one of the most loved places in our area is the skate park it's always amazing to walk by and see all these young people gathering and having a laugh such talented people a real feel of community space nice to just site and watch on a lovely day.

Transport links are great though the buses are always busy in the morning and you have to wait for a few, sometimes they don't open the doors. Could be better in that sense. A lot of noise from traffic on Wandsworth road which is a very negative side.

A lot of traffic noise, kids playing outside all the time without adult supervision, not very good behaviour on my block.

There are a lot of shops around which is quite good, not that many bars around Wandsworth Road Station but Clapham isn't that far.
