I like Kilburn, but there are a number of snobs in the area that look down on it.
Transport
I find the fact that i can use either the Jubilee line or Bakerloo line a real bonus to living here. It means I can come back from most places in London quickly. The tube is always a bit of a handful with the kids, but it's manageable now they're a bit older.
Community
There are drawbacks to being so close to two big crowd drawing sites - it does get very busy on match days at Lords and there is a constant crowd of tourists up and down Abbey Road. It's worth it for the buzz of the place, I think, but that's just me and totally appreciate it won't be a a selling point for everyone.
Amenities
Live close to anything me and my family need. And more. I will always get a kick out of being so close to Abbey Road studio and the great Lord's Cricket Ground. It's been good to see how Kilburn high street on the up too so between there and the shops around St John's Wood and the Pizza Express at the end of our street, we are very happy.
Abercorn Pl, NW8 9XPPeaceful community area, rare gem in centra London area.
This area is suitable for retired and families with very young children due to the hospitals and schools around. It needs a slight bit of regeneration towards Maida Vale area, but overall it is a lovely peaceful calm community, I wouldn’t want to change much of it apart from the variety of shops, to make it more vibrant.
Transport
We are quite lucky to be situation right between Maida Vale and St. John’s Wood underground station. There are plenty of buses around with occasional traffic. Transport here is otherwise absolutely lovely.
Community
This is a rather quiet residential area and mostly families with some schools for young children. We enjoy the peacefulness very much and cleanliness.
Amenities
There are some local shops with Tesco’s slightly further away. For me food essentials are most important and there is a large community of Asians in this area - I believe this area could benefit from having larger stores / variety of Sainsbury’s - and Asian grocery shops. More recreational parks would be lovely and help make the community feel more alive.
St John's Wood, NW8 8UFDisappointing and residential area
At John’s wood is nice to walk and there is nice cafés there, and the proximity to the city is wonderful as you can walk to Oxford street.
Transport
It is well communicated. We have the jubilee line ten minutes walking from here, and you can definitely walk Oxford street or Camden l. There is always buses running around the area but the traffic horrible sometimes

There is a bus stop next to my street and at the end of it there is a Tesco and a few delis shops
Amenities
Well, the area is seen as a residential posh area and it is true. There is a few council states around but most of the streets are full of posh and expensive houses. St Johns wood is very popular for wealthy people and they don’t doubt to buy an overpriced coffee. There is a couple of pubs around the area but extremely overpriced. On the other side of th road there is church market street full of cheap fruit and vegetables stands, but with dubious quality.
