Bethnal Green, E2 9JFGood amenities, especially in terms of the variety of foods. There are nearby places to work out or have a drink. However, it feels somewhat unsafe at night and there is little overall sense of community.
The edgy, more youthful vibe of the young professionals and the conservatism of the South-East Asian community meet. This ensures great variety when it comes to the shops in the area. That said, the park tends to be dominated by younger people who often work out in it. The area is rather unsafe as some people inhale gas out in the open sometimes. There are sometimes verbal fights in front of the shops at night.
Transport
The tube is 10 to 15 minutes away by walking and only one station away from Liverpool Street, which provides great connections. There are no good connections to supermarkets but those are within walking distance for able-bodied people. Bikes are available to borrow nearby and next to the tube station.
Community
Families and young professionals are most likely to live on the street. The street is within a few minutes away from Victoria Park and has food stores that are open until late at night. It is also closed to a school.

South Indian food shops are the most predominant and one can get a great range of ingredients that are specific to such cuisine. If one shop does not have it, then another one on Roman Road will. Some shops have fresh fruits and vegetables where each item can be hand-picked. There is one food shop that is especially suitable for vegans. At least two of the shops are open till late at night (11 pm). There are two takeaways nearby (fish and chips and Indian) and even more still within walking distance. There is also a barbershop but the quality of their service is questionable. There are two cafes and a dentist, as well as a pharmacy nearby. Victoria Park is very close and hosts a food market each Sunday with a great range of international foods. Alcohol, hot drinks and desserts are also available. There are no great connections to larger shops but they are within acceptable walking distance for able-bodied people (a Lidl and a Tesco about 20 minutes away). There is one bookshop. Two post offices are also located within walking distance (around 10 minutes). There is a lack of nearby high-quality GP surgeries.

Most liked - Victoria Park along with other open and green spaces. Least liked - reputation of the local council along with their customer service. Overall, a great and friendly atmosphere. A very wide ranging demographic, but one that generally lives in tranquility alongside each other. The area is well-suited for pets and children, as much as any average area inside the M25 if not more.
Transport
E2, E3 and E14 are all well served by public transport. Transport for London has 5 rail lines, some of which offering night-tube services, running on its network here: - Central Line - Hammersmith & City - Jubilee - Overground - DLR Alongside the tube there are many buses, with night-services also operating. All TfL services in these parts of London are reliable, regular and clean. In addition there is a well-functioning highway system for road users. This includes the Cycle Superhighway for the safety and convenience of cyclists.
Community
In my area the bins are regularly collected. There is ample parking, traffic noise is generally limited to daytime and relatively little anti-social behaviour. My area and street has a wide-ranging demographic. Native and life-long inhabitants, recent immigrants - of first, second and third generations - as well as students and professionals. There are people of all ages and circumstances - single people, couples and families.

I live in E2, I work in E14 and spend time in E3. All areas are great and have their own character. E2 is my favourite area in London, with a good range of shops, restaurants, bars and various open spaces. This includes the famous Victoria Park, which has the award-winning status status as the nation’s favourite park in numerous years. All areas have been gentrified in recent decades, though E2 perhaps shows the best of the old alongside the new. You’ll still find a typical Bethnal Green style pub such as the Salmon & Ball or The Hare, but you’ll also find more hipster takes on alcohol-serving venues such as with the Dundee Arms and the sultry Satan’s Whiskers. In E3 you’ll find many chain restaurants - Subway, Nando’s, KFC etc alongside some more independent fast-food outlets. This serves the student population of nearby Queen Mary University well. E14 has had undergone the most development and is home to Canary Wharf, one London’s two financial districts. You don’t have to work there to take a trip out though, and you’ll find many great restaurants such as the Big Easy offering meals with waterside views. There’s also a wealth of opportunities - shops, restaurants and bars - on offer in the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre.

Due to all the parks and green areas, yes is definetly suitable for children and pets, you’ll have plenty of space to take them to. I like the accessibility and That’s my favorite advantage of this area. Is not the cutes area to the eye probably, so if you’re looking for something to show off to your friends might not be the best area.

This part is great, I have 3 tube station nearby bethnal green, Stepney green and withechapel( withechapel has overground as well, and bethnal green has a separate station nearby as well for the overground) there are plenty of buses to go everywhere. And cycle lane For all the mile end av.

I hear most of the time the traffic, due to I am next to mile end avenue, is not the most noisy street though. I’ve been almost 2 years in here, the streets are not the cleanest but not the dirtiest, sometimes there is rubbish in the floor or stuff like that, not at all times. Bin collectors are usually punctual, since I’m here there has been just one that they let us with a bunch of rubbish accumulating.

Bethnal green is an area of variety, you can find a bunch of different types of restaurants very nearby, Thai, Indian, chinnese, Turkish, among many others. You can find plenty of parks at walk distance (in my case between 2-20 min there are at least 5 parks) a bunch of supermarkets and regular little markets. The area is very complete, just a bit dirty sometimes.
