Having Victoria Park so close makes it so worth it living near by. Roman Road is full of goodness, especially with the market. Being so close to/easy distance to the main city is great, especially for commuting. It's been on the up for a while and can be seen as trendy. I haven't had many bad experiences and would say its safe even considering the area can be known for gangs - it's never affected me.

Really good transport links, with Bow Road having the DLR, District, Hammersmith & City and Central line stations in easy walking distance. Bus stops are in easy reach, both near Roman Road and Bow Road, with links to Stansted Airport near Bow Church station.
Community
Parking is available, with a small permit fee that is more than reasonable. Easy walking distance to shops and the main high street, as well as great cycle routes that go in to the heart of the city. A mixture of renters and owners live on my street.
Amenities
I live in E3 near Roman Road, and the range of local shops is great - especially fresh fruit and veg. Coffee shops / cafes are in abundance. High street supermarkets are in good quantity, as well as other essential shops. There's not too many high street shops, but I think even more independent shops for clothing rather than cafes would be great.

Transport
There is access to Tfl travel , such as buses. The local buses are: 339, 7, 276, 488. These buses travel to Mile End, Shadwell, Westfield Stratford, Newham, Bow Church and more places. Buses are usually clean, with good service provided and arrive promptly on time, with each bus coming 5+ later after the first.
Community
Parking is selective to those who have notified the council for a space , however there are visitors bays and other places to park your car around the area. Traffic, due to covid, is at a minimum as there are none to little cars around.

Welcome to the heart of Bow. I live 2 mins away from Roman Road Market, and I love my area. There’s a variety of shops, from main street food shops such as Costa and Tesco. The market has amazing stalls, where you can purchase: clothes, furniture, continental foods etc and more. Great place to visit to try new foods, great scenery, and located close by to Victoria Park and the Olympic Stadium. Budget friendly services too.

The area has clearly undergone regeneration but the new schemes lack amenities and reasons for people to stay in the area. It is only here to live at the moment and be deserted in the day for people at work elsewhere and no social aspects. The regeneration of neighbouring areas will hopefully bring much needed residents services to the area
Transport
The ease of getting to Stratford, Canary Wharf and the City by tube is evidently good. The roads are always extremely busy at rush hour and suffer massively from high pollution levels. Travelling north is difficult as it can only be done by road and therefore suffers from traffic problems
Community
My street is mostly renters or those in first time buyer schemes consisting of young couples and families. There aren’t many positives of living in the street, except there is a sense of community with the neighbours

The local area lacks a lot of those amenities you’d expect to find in an area as densely populated as E3. Other than supermarkets there are very few specialist shops that then require a trip to Stratford or the City or Canary Wharf. It also lacks from decent local pubs with them very few and far between. Mile End has the majority of the pubs and restaurants, whereas the eastern end of Bow Road has two pubs and no restaurants at all. Living here is only for the location of its proximity to other places like Stratford, Hackney Wick and the ease of getting to the City and Canary Wharf. There is no reason for this area of Bow other than dense housing and little in terms of amenities
