My hopeful Community; a Commodius place to live.

What i like most about my area is the ease and convenience of the local shops and wide rangeof ammenities including a GP and pharmacy situated alongside eachother which is a minute walk away from my house?street. I also love the fact that there is a open park in which people of the commuity can exercise e.g jogging or doing yoga. The atmosphere in my local area is very enjoyable and delightful, where people are kind to each other and there is no antisocial behavior. I woudnt say that my area is trendy as its just the local community getting on about there day in a civilised manner utilising the wide range of ammenities available to them. The area is very much suitable for pet. This is because of the incredible amount of communal space and open park spaces in which for example people can take thier pet dogs out for walks. The area is very safe and people respect each other, altough there may be the youth being themeselves, enjoying thier youthhood, they are respectful of others and woudnt cause any havoc. I personally feel safe in my local area.

Transport

The availability of public transport in my area is really high. this benefits me really well, as I can take my kids to school every day using either DLR or the buses available in my area like the D7, 277, 135 bus routes which I mostly use for travelling around E14. There is no other major train line apart from the DLR close available to me with a 10-15 min walk. however, with the convenience of the DLR people in my area can switch the train lines to the Jubilee line. There are not may cycle routes/lanes in my area, however, it is straight forward to travel along manchester road in the isle of dogs with a bicycle , this is because it is one straight main road in which you could navigate around the isle of dogs, but also the road itself isn't too busy and is a 2 lane road with each lane running in opposite directions to each other (meaning one lane in each direction) so cyclists should feel safer on this main road. The public transport is very reliable as they run every day 7 days a week arriving every 2-7mins with the exception of Christmas day. The buses along manchester road are not 24hr service but night buses do run during the night when the day buses arent operating. The company that runs the public transport is TFL which I highly praise for their innovation and ease In which they provide to their customers. They make sure buses run evenly so no delays and also the buses themselves are new on most routes and are cleaned. In the isle of dogs, I wouldn't say there are many traffic problems, as the main roads which run along the isle of dogs are mostly quiet where there is no traffic. However, what I wish would improve with traffic in The Isle of Dogs is the opening of The Blue Bridge. When The Blue Bridge opens it causes major delays and traffic to let boats pass-through. this is extremely frustrating as it would mean kids are late for school (if it opens during morning hours) typically 15-20 mins. It also means that people arriving from the Blackwall and Poplar area cant enter the Isle of Dogs or Cubbit town area Vica versa for the drivers and commuters trying to exit the isle of dog, in this case, people typically make u-turns and navigate across the whole of the Isle of dogs heading towards Canary Wharf. Overall i would give the transport links in my area a 4.5/5, its absolutely fantastic but it loses half a point just due to traffic caused by the the blue bridge which open very rarely.

Community

I like the street and area I live on because there is close access to local amenities. Also, there is estate private parking for the residents who live in the vicinity. in addition to this, there is street parking for permit holders which is convenient as I can park on the street as well. Furthermore, people in my area are really friendly and there's no anti-social behaviour. there is also a communal area next to my house in which people can walk and go running. There is minimal traffic noise as the main road is 1 block away. On the street at my house, there is little to no traffic noise as it is a quiet road. There are some homeowners in my area but I would assume that most the locals are renters and families as there are lots of kids who go to the primary school which is situated 1 minute walk away from my house. Overall I would rate the aspects of living on my street a 5/5.

Amenities

There is a range of local amenities in my area which I will define as being convenient and useful for me. this is because they provide me with quick access/solutions to problems or needs I may have. this includes pubs, haircut barber shops, off-license convenience stores, also parks which contain a lot of greenery. I like this because it is useful for not only me but others including my neighbours where people can go for jogging, and other outdoor exercises like yoga due to the green open space in the park which is called Sir John McDougal gardens, it is popular place due to these reasons and also for kids to play in as it has a play area for kids as well. furthermore, my local area of shops also includes a GP clinic which has a pharmacy alongside it. this is incredibly convenient for the local people who are registered at the GP because people can collect their prescriptions from the pharmacy and other pharmaceutical needs they may have. Overall I would rate my local area a 5/5 due to convenience and ease.

I like that everything is close by, from shops, amenities, the transport and friends and family.

I like that everything is close by, from shops, amenities, the transport and friends and family. Many of us grew up together at the local schools so it's hard not to see a familiar face. The area as a whole has and is seeing a regeneration with new residential buildings and old ones being revamped. It makes for an aesthetically pleasing place to live in. There are always new businesses starting up so plenty of new things to see and try. It is a nice area and community to grow up in and is suitable for children and pets with lots of green open space, parks, nurseries and schools. It is more safe now than it has been before and is the best place to live.

Transport

E14 is very well connected with many modes of transport. With a range of local buses from the D8, D3, D7, 135 and 277 that can easily take you to a variety of places including night buses. The DLR runs through this area which can take you to Lewisham and Canary Wharf from where you can travel to Bank as well as use underground services such as the Jubilee line at Canary Wharf. The buses and trains run regularly and you don't need to rely on just one to get you where you need to which makes it so easy to travel and they are usually clean. Like most places there can be traffic at peak hours but everything runs smoothly most of the time and any disruptions such as events will be well prepared for. Buses and trains are most busiest in the morning when going to school/work and then later going home from school/work. It can be difficult to travel at these times given the number of people trying to get on the same bus/train as you which can be crowded but luckily there will be another bus/train a few minutes later. You can find many bike stations at various locations across the area and even without transport it is very easy to get around on foot as everything is close by. Overall, it is an easily accessible area to get in and out of thanks to the transport.

Community

Parking is available in the area. For garbage disposal we have an adjacent building that has a bin chute as well as a basement located underneath the building which can be easily accessed for the bins and recycling and the bin collections occur regularly. As it is not on a main road there is very little traffic noise too. Many of the houses on the street are renters with all of them being families. The area is quiet most of the time and the neighbours are friendly and there is little to no anti social behaviour.

Amenities

E14 has a wide range of local shops for your every need from grocery shops such as Tesco, Co-op and Asda in many locations, corner shops, charity shops, pharmacies, beauty salons, flower shops, retail shops, cafes as well as fast food shops where you can grab a Subway, Papa John's, fish and chips etc and the popular bubble tea shops. Everything you need can be found locally and it is even easier to eat locally with cosy cafes and the range of restaurants from Kinkao, Memsaab, Manjal and the Old Fire Station restaurant amongst others. Not to mention the numerous restaurants (Nandos, Wagamamas, Wahaca, The Ivy, Pizza Express, Shake Shack to name a few) that can be found within a quick walk to Canary Wharf. The KERB food market in West India Quay inspires you to sample a range of street food and The Wharf Kitchen provides access to different restaurants in one spot. A short distance from the shopping centre you can find the Crossrail Rooftop Garden which has many more eateries like Chai Ki, Sticks n Sushi and The Breakfast Club. Alongside the restaurants you can find many bars too. What makes dining out in E14 so special is that many restaurants come with a view whether it is the Riverside, the tall city buildings or the welcoming outdoor spaces. Nothing beats grabbing a burger from Shake Shack and sitting on the grass in socially distanced bubbles with friends. Aside from open spaces like grassy areas there are parks dotted around with Millwall Park being a popular location thanks to it's size allowing for football games, picnics, jogs, exercise with a jungle gym and good old fashioned fun with the usual swings and roundabout. It directly leads you right into Mudchute Farm which is a perfect family outing. For the older kids there are clubs to hang out in as well as a skate park, Cineworld and Powerleague for a range of sports activities. In addition, there are sports centres such as Tiller Leisure Centre which is popular for swimming lessons. Currently, there are no amenities missing as there is something for everyone and new shops are always popping up such as bubble tea, vape shops and second hand shops which are a great way to experience the modern trends with their traditional neighbours such barbers and cafes.
