N8 is very suitable for children, pets and anyone who likes to live in what feels like a village with an excellent community spirit. It has a very arty vibe too, with open house art events and community festivals and fairs taking place throughout the year.
Transport
There isnt a tube station, however Highgate (zone 3), Archway (zone 2) and Finsbury Park (zone 2) are all within 30 mins walk, or a bus ride away. The W7 and W3 bus routes run regularly during commuting hours to Finsbury Park, and take 10-15 mins. The weekends can be tricky as there are far fewer buses.

My street is a mixture of young professionals renting in houseshares and families who own their homes, and have often been here for many years. It is on the W7 bus routes and has several shops on it so is well connected.

The best thing about living in N8 is the amount of good quality independent shops, cafes and restaurants there are. There are several grocers, butchers, good quality coffee shops, quirky arty design shops, many great brunch spots, lots of decent old pubs with good grub and tons of restaurants. These are all quite medium-high end, however, so if you are on a budget and looking for Aldi/Lidl/Savers/Wilko/greasy spoons you wont find them here, but these are all a bus ride away. There are plenty of open spaces in the vicinity, from local parks like Priory Park and Stationers Park to Alexandra Palace park and Queens Wood and Highgate wood very nearby. This is very unusual for London! There is also the hidden 'Crouch End open space' which feels like pure countryside.

The atmosphere of the area is positive and community centric. Everyone cares about the community and are always helpful with everything.

Amazing access to transport, with a variety of bus stops and busses travelling all over London, including transport to both Archway and Finsbury Park Station.

Parking availability is low as there are schools around the area. Traffic varies, during rush-hour is the loudest. Majority of households are families.

Living right on the high street gives you local access to shops, bakeries, business - varying from tool shops, salons, beauty clinics, retail, off-licenses, supermarkets. There are also many social areas including multiple coffee shops, libraries, community events, YMCA. The area is also in the catchment area of multiple nurseries, Primary Schools, Secondary schools, 6forms and Colleges. This area is a safe and quiet environment, and perfect for all family types.

The best bit is the restaurants and bars, it is suitable for children and animals and very safe despite being in a borough of a high crime rate.

Amazing transport links in terms of buses eg. 41, W7 not as many in terms of tube the closest is Archway or Finsbury which are still a bus journey away

Lord of parking, mainly families on the street, there is a junior school which makes it busy in the mornings and around 3 however

Local shops are all good and vary in price, lots of restaurants and bars which are all good. Only local area not as good is the crouch end green which is under construction
