The great thing about Kensal Green is the mix of people and the easy way in which they mix. In the nineteenth century many came from Wales. I think there is still a Welsh language school nearby. There were Jewish refugees from Eastern Europe. Then many people came from Ireland, Italy, from the Caribbean, from Asia, from Africa, from the Middle East, France and Eastern Europe. Each is reflected in shops, cafes and bars. With easy access to West End theatres and proximity to the old BBC studios there have long been actors and TV people around. In recent years they've been joined by more fashionable people and then by wealthier people; but there is still a pleasant mix and the area remains more shabby than chic.
Transport
The main link into central London is the Bakerloo underground line, from Kensal Green station. It is reasonably fast (about half an hour to wherever), frequent and reliable. But the carriages are crowded and ancient. Also from Kensal Green, you can catch a handy and fast overground train to Euston (about 12 mins). Willesden Junction, a little to the west, adds another useful line which runs (at a rather leisurely pace around North London. There are a fair few buses, but they tend to get snagged in jams, in surrounding areas. For the same reason, it is not a good place for motorists, though local roads are rather quiet. Cycling is popular, but it is hilly.

My street is quiet. There is hardly any traffic and no other noise. People tend to keep themselves to themselves, though underlying there is a neighbourly spirit - seen in the recent Corona crisis.

From pretty-well the time it was built-up (around 1900) Kensal Green has always been an adjunct to central London. It is primarily residential. People move-in for the easy commute. That's reflected in the shops, which gather around stations. Most amenities are on the periphery. Just to the east is Kensal Rise, with a locally-run cinema (the Lexi) and swish, fashionable and expensive restaurants, bars and boutiques. Just west is Harlesden, with more practical and affordable shops. The nearest big supermarket (Sainsburys) is a little to the south, in Ladbroke Grove. Most of Kensal Green's own cafes shops are in College Rd, which leads to K Green station (Bakerloo and overground). They are small and friendly. Also on College Rd is a library (confusingly called Kensal Rise Library) run for and by local people - and the centre of the local community. There are good nurseries and a mix of schools. There are good parks, a swimming pool, gym and tennis club.

The area is a fun area some days you will walk and there are people blasting popular tunes on the high street but its not a common thing It all really depends were in nw10 you stay at some parts are really nice and classy and some give off more of a urban vibe Very safe for pets

You can go just about anywhere from nw10 because of all of the train stations and different bus stops But there are some days in harlesden where there can be a lot of traffic when going towards wembley (ha9) for bus and car users

Well i live on a quiet road and theres not much trouble there parking is good but there are times we can come and theres no more spaces and we have to park round the corner but that is very rare
