For me it looks pretty safe, as there are events when police is involved, but very rarely. And there's lots of people with kids and animals, so I think it's safe, and anyways, it's mostly the parent's or owners responsibility.
Transport
Well I think communities in this area are great. We have C2C, National Rail, District & Hammersmith, Overground, which in total are more than enough. If there are no emergency matters, the trains always run on time. And buses? Not everyone can control the traffic. I can see drivers doing the best they can.
Community
In my opinion if you choose to live in East London Zone 4,you just have to be ready for the noise. There are schools and nurseries around, so it might be noisy at some places, but as an area, let's say comparing to East Ham - Extremely quiet.
Amenities
Everything seems to be not so bad. I see people mostly enjoy Barking Market and shopping centre. Sometimes, when I go to a park I see people with children quite often or people doing sports, which looks quite fun. What's missing you're asking me? PRIMARK!

It's definitely in need of regeneration. The streets should be cleaner, at the moment Barking looks like literally no institution is looking after it. It's loaded with rubbish on the streets, plenty of beggers and drunk people..

I don't travel much as I work from home, but I think most people are dissatisfied with lack of toilets in Barking station, because the one's there are - usually out of order.

Everything seems to be kinda cool, apart from amenities that are missing. Would be pretty good having something that East Ham has - Deichmann, Primark or Sports Direct

I always thought that only Barking centre is a dangerous place, but now, after a person got shot yesterday in Wilmington Gardens, which is one of the most quiet places, I'd call the whole Barking dangerous. Too many drug addigts as well, and dealers.

To be fair I find the Barking station quite decent. There are loads of trains running every few minutes, in Barking centre there's plenty of buses, so the amenities are pretty great. The station itself could be cleaner, comparing to other stations I've been to.
Community
Usually bin collectors are punctual in a matter of days. They used to have a set hour when they come, but now at least they come regularly on the same day every week. I'd like for garden waste someone would start collecting again, that wouls be great.
Amenities
As an area Barking has plenty of shops for household supplies and food, but not many decent places to buy Clothes or Shoes at a reasonable price. There's Barking Market, but the quality of clothes is doubtful, I wish us, people living in Barking would have Primark, would be awesome.
