ts surprisingly quiet in terms of anti-social behaviour we have never had any problems

A dislike at the moment is the council does seem to be closing off a lot of streets making it harder for emergency services and other business to get access and therefore causing more pollution as more cars are sat in tailbacks because theres not alternative routes. The atmosphere in the local area is always up and up and people do like to help. We have cats and they love it in the area so pets is a big yes. Safety is amazing because people look out for each other in the area although you'll have small things but never major things or rarely.

Transport

Buses are always running as you've got the start of the Victoria line at the heart of E17 so you'll never have to worry about being able to catch a bus or a train we have underground and over ground, so wherever you need to go be it central London or out of town, the services can get you there!

Community

I live essentially really close to Walthamstow central and its surprisingly quiet in terms of anti-social behaviour we have never had any problems, we have a really good relationship with our local policing team who'll always say hi if they're in the area and everyone says hi to each other on the streets and looks out for one another! Parking is not an issue theres always a spot somewhere even if it is a tiny extra walk! Bin collectors normally get through the collection before most people are up and try to clear away to not cause any traffic and we haven't had any issues with them not collecting, other than collection days changing but thats only when the council changes contracts. Theres a mix of renters and families, with families more so in the local area because of the community feel in the local area families tend to want to stay.

Amenities

Shops in E17 range from thriftshops all the way to designer outlet type shops. Going down the High Street you'll find stalls full of fruit and vegetables and hearing the vendors calling out there special offers at the tops of there lungs to make sure they get the crowds of people to come to them, but then you have the little oddity vendors, need a watch theres one for that, need a RC car there's one for that, need a rolling pin we got you covered, need a new jackets we got you! But then if you lookatthe shops behind the vendors you'll the sweet shop that has been there 25+ years, the food truck (Sets Spice Hut) always with a queue and all the other little shops run by locals that survive because of locals! Venture out the high street and you'll find even more, like newish Heavenly Desserts and boy are they good! Plus a Nandos never goes a miss! But if you wanted to sit back and watch a movie why not pop in to Empire Cinema to catch the latest movies on the Big screens, plus some nachos and tango ice blast. Or go off and find yourself in any of the multiple parks where there is always something to do, kick a ball about in the cages, play cricket on the fields, let the kids loose in the play area! E17 is a great area and its been home for many years and will be for many more!

If you're a family, couple or anyone really... Walthamstow is an awesome place to eat, drink, shop and live

I love that there's so many amenities, it's really helpful when you want to stay local. Having lived in other parts of London, I definitely think that Walthamstow is definitely the most community feeling out of them all. The council puts in a lot of effort to bring the community together with events, the Walthamstow garden party in particular is brilliant as well as the Sunday social markets. There's a real sense of support for the local community - it's people and businesses. I love that it feels leafy and suburban but is so quick to get into central London (20 mins on the tube!) Generally I just think its an awesome place to live and I hope to live here for many years to come.... If I don't get priced out!

Transport

Excellent transport system and connections. Lots of options with Queens Rd overground and Walthamstow Central which is both tube and overground. The bus station is also very handy and goes to quite a few places, ideally located next to the station. Being on the Victoria line in general is good, fast and pretty reliable and definitely a plus being at the beginning of the line (so you get a seat) and the end of the line (so you can fall asleep).

Community

It's pretty quiet, lots of trees around and it generally has a sense of community and child friendly. Mostly couples or young families in the neighbourhood.

Amenities

I bang on so much about how awesome Walthamstow is for the amount of shops, pubs/restaurants/cafes, green spaces there are and we've even got two museums! You've got the village as a hub for food and drink with plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from all great atmospheres and seem to manage a really great balance of young family feel and a casual crowd making it an all round chill experience. But hoe Street has also seen a rise in places, my favourite is The Collab great burgers and awesome selection of beers, many of which are local. The main high St and Wood Street also has some good spots. The supermarket selection is great we've got Asda, Sainsburys and Lidl. You've got generally useful shops like Wilko and TK Maxx, several charity shops and a few High St brands in the shopping centre. I pretty much can get everything I need within the local area, which has been very important during this covid situation. Although because of the Covid situation unfortunately some shops have closed in the centre.

Fantastic William Morris museum and yearly community events like the Mela

Transport

Not the best for cyclists due to lack of cycle lanes, but many bus routes and overground and underground connections. Regular transport in day and evening, even night tube.

Community

Good community with a good school and a mix of different neighbours. Including renters and private homeowners - busy for parking

Amenities

Great transport links and a mix of chain and independent eateries with a rich picking of international cuisines. A vibrant market and weekly farmer’s market.
