Driving around here is a bit of a nightmare.

The noise of the traffic can be super annoying at times. Especially on hot days when we have to have the windows open. We live in London, so it's never going to be quiet, but I've never managed to get used to it.

Transport

Driving around here is a bit of a nightmare. We try to time our drives and when we do stuff so we don't get stuck in traffic. Commuting on the train is quick into London Waterloo from Putney station. Takes 20 minutes. Clapham junction good for links and just one stop away.

Community

A lot of Putney is very rich. But some of the estates aren't don't always feel the safest. I think a lot of London is like that. To a certain extent, I like that diversity, but I do worry for when my children are a bit older and they go out on their own.

Amenities

Lots of amenities near us which is great. Just a bit too expensive for us to save as much as we would want. My daughter's nursery is amazing and the schools are good too which is keeping us in the area. Can't knock the high street for its range of shops.

Being close to Richmond park is great at the weekends as we don't have a garden.

Parking can be a bit tight on our street. Also, it's very expensive to park wherever you go. With kids, driving is sometimes our only real option for getting about despite all the different transport options. So parking can be an issue.

Transport

We have three stations less than a mile from us which is useful for getting to different parts of town. There are also a handful of bus routes from the upper richmond road so getting to local destinations is easy too. The traffic on the upper richmond road - particularly towards Putney - can slow down a journey. I try to get the train as often as I can as I just find it quicker and more reliable.

Community

We live on an estate in a wealthy area. I like the mix that that means in terms of the people around here, but it does mean that some shops, cafes and pubs are a bit more expensive than my husband and I can afford to go to all the time. The people tend to be quite friendly when you start talking to them, but mostly people keep themselves to themselves.

Amenities

We started renting our flat to be a bit closer to the kids' primary school. We've got a daughter in year two and a son in reception and we have been so pleased with their education at East Sheen Primary School. Both children are quite different but both have gained greatly from the school, socially as well as academically, and have made friends for life. We have found it a friendly, welcoming and happy place - a fantastic first step on our children's educational path. Being close to Richmond park is great at the weekends as we don't have a garden.

I don't really feel like there is much heart to the streets around me.

It's obviously not a massive issue, but the post office near my flat is just not worth using. The staff in there are awful. Otherwise, I guess the traffic noise can be quite intrusive at rush hour.

Transport

It's a bit annoying being so far from a train station - but I can get a bus down to Barnes or Putney station. There are loads of bus routes just over the road which is helpful. Especially the ones that take you down quieter roads as the traffic from the A3 can be bad.

Community

I don't really feel like there is much heart to the streets around me. There is no real high street as such - just a few random shops. I don't really like all the high rises around me, nor do I really like living in one, but as far as estates go, it's not the worst. It's nice too that there are lots of playgrounds as it means there are lots of young families around which helps the community.

Amenities

I use the Co-op a lot. It's pretty standard but it's very convenient for usual grocery items. Probably the best thing about living here is being so close to the Heath and Richmond park. The library is not bad either. There's not loads to do here if I'm being honest, but it is a fine place to live - especially as I could never afford a garden flat. The park is great for outdoor space.

Mortlake or Barnes station are over a mile away. In my opinion, that's just that little bit too far to be called convenient.
