I most like the transport links to get into more central London, I like the older houses and the pubs and shops I can go to on my doorstep. I dislike the crime and drug abuse and think it’s a big factor here. The atmosphere in general is really good, Shepherds Bush is a great place to live! The market may be in need of some regeneration but I believe there are plans for this. Regardless of the crime and drug abuse mentioned, I have never felt unsafe walking down the streets of W12 and this has not personally affected me. The area is suitable for kids and there are many great schools around and great transport links to further away schools for example in Richmond. I have had 4 cats in W12 and they loved it!
Transport
The transport links are great, living on Lime grove there is Goldhawk Road tube one side and Shepherds Bush Market the other and so many buses going in all the different directions. You can get to Oxford Street in 20 minutes from Shepherds Bush station on the Central line!

There is a lot of drug abuse as I believe there is a hostel or home for people that have this issue. Knife crime is also quite high as there was a piece on the news not long ago when police swept the Shepherd’s Bush green and found many knives stashed and hidden. Traffic noise isn’t too bad as the roads are not fast. The people living here are very mixed, couples, students etc.

There are a few good pubs such as Brewdog, Sindercombe and Defectors Weld however it would be great to see more outside seating areas along with later opening bars as I feel as though that is what is missing! Brewdog is great for the beer selection and food and Sindercombe and Defectors Weld are good pubs for atmosphere. We’ve also got the Shepherds Bush Empire which is a great live music venue!! China Wok and the falafel in the market both sell amazing street food however the market is a little drab and there’s not a lot I would personally go in there for although Goldhawk Road is known for fabrics so there is a lot of that. There are also more expensive restaurants in Westfield which you can go to...

This area had been completely made over and regenerated in the last 15 years. The dynamics have changed, it is the competitive neighbour to Notting hill I love living here everything on my doorstep

Good multicultural environment, vet good schools and social amenities. Suits all , but obviously it’s a busy highly popular area in the inner city. The local Borough LBHF keeps the streets clean and is effective in keeping the Borough safe My street is a mixture of families and young professional couples

We are lucky in W12 to have Westfield shopping Centre, the market a vibrant high street on Uxbridge road. We have 2 theatres 2 large cinema complex’s . An amazing selection of restaurants and bars in Westfield, White city BBC television centre. The best transport links central line , Hammersmith and city Circle line and overground. Also buses to all over London.

The area is very well connected. I could not complain at all. There are two tube stations, overground station and many bus stops. Bus from here can take you almost everywhere. Especially the connection with central lond is one of the best a the main reason I have not moved away yet. Tube stations can be overcrowded during rush hours making it really frustrating but the general feeling is very positive overall.

The area could be much better. There is hardly any parking spot. We cannot get visitors because of that. Also there is a certain ghetto feel and lots of drug selling and usage that makes it extremely scary to walk after dark. There are many intoxicated people in the small streets where residential buildings are. They get provocative and intimidating to everyone, especially women. Lots of traffic noise. Where I live we wake up ten times every night from police and ambulance sirens that tend to start just outside our window. Council does not provide enough recycling bags. Not a good area to raise a child generally.

I think the area has quite almost everything although the restaurant quality could always be better. A lot of not so great chicken shops around. Also a lot 0f very culturally targeting clothing shops that give a sense of low quality and ghetto feel in the are as they dont seem really inviting to other cultures. We could use more local cafes, not big branches. We see lots of new shops opening and closing really fast.
