I like the fact that people are down to earth, no real difference in any one's social and financial status so people get on better. There is a sense of community and people say hello often. Lots of children with the occasional pet.
Transport
Bus routes are great, 24 hour buses straight to central london and beyong. A bus journey to the nearest tube station served by Bakerloo and Northern line, and round the corner from Thameslink However lots of traffic on the roads.
Community
Parking is controlled and enforced, only resident s are welcome so it seems. We have mostly owners in what used to be a mostly council house area. Many families and elderly people on their own.
Amenities
There are a few convenience shops, like the newsagents, and an independent grocer, as well as a large Tesco supermarket. We have a local butcher and a fishmonger as well as a bakery and fish and chip shop. Turkish kebabs a plenty as we have 3 places open until late at night, 2 wonderful pubs and a couple of good old fashioned cafes which still sell proper food. Both indian restaurant and chinese which both also do takeaway, we have a variety of chicken shops, florist and other food stores which sell food from around the world. There is nothing really that is missing.

I love this area and I always suggest it to my friends. We have 2 beautiful park ideal for walks, and a few smaller green areas perfect for a quick dog walk in the evening. It’s not very trendy, however a short walk toward tower bridge takes you to the arches, with multiple pubs.
Transport
Super happy with the transport links - bus no 1 takes me all the way to central London and Oxford street, jubilee line is just 10 mins walk. If I need to get in other direction and don’t feel like catching a tube, there are multiple bus lines to choose on the old kent road.
Community
We never struggle with parking availability on our road, however it can be a little tricky to park in the area as all the spots are permit only. It was never an issue for me since I prefer to walk and not drive. I heard about some anti social behaviours and sometimes hear a police siren, but never on my street. Only issue would be the occasional dog waste not picked up by the dog owners. My neighbours are mostly elderly house owners, who are very friendly.
Amenities
The selection of shops is amazing, I very rarely need to get out of Bermondsey for my essentials. Just 2 mins always from my place I have Tesco and Iceland, and 2 international food markets. If I need to make bigger shopping, 10-15 mins walk there’s Asda, another Tesco and Lidl. When it comes to the restaurants, I’ve never really been to any in the area, but the pub selection is rather spectacular!

It is in a good location with great transport links. It also has good cycle lanes for cyclists and cycle shed to store them in. However, it can be very noisy due to ambulance and police

There is everything one could ever want. We are so close to maltby market and borough markets- perfect if you are a foodie. The best pubs are the St James and The gregorian
