Stronsa Rd, W12 9LBI love the fact that it is safe, quiet and friendly
I love the fact that it is safe, quiet and friendly. There is a sense of local community but I believe it would be beneficial to have better shops and give Askew Road a better look. People tend to go to Chiswick to get stuff they can't get here, so shops like Boots and Holland and Barret, or even a weekend market could lift the spirit a bit!
Transport
The closest tube station is 1,2 km (Stamford Brook - District Line) which takes you about 15 minutes to get there. One can find some buses on Goldhawk Road, The Vale and Askew Road which they take you to Shepherd's Bush Station, Hammersmith, Westfields, Notting Hill and even Central London. Traffic is not bad, not even during rush hour I'd say and would be nice to have more bike lanes really.
Community
I guess most houses are occupied by young families, couples. and elderly people. Haven't seen many students and perhaps that's why it's so quite which is definitely a plus to me and hope it never changes! There's no traffic noise at all and most of the "noise" comes from people on their way to Wendell Park. I'm happy with the people living on this street even though I've only met a few... but would be nice to meet others someday.

There is a reasonable variety of shops around this area considering it's mostly residential. Askew Road is sort of the main street and despite not being very long, you can find independent shops like cafes, bakeries, supermarkets, gift shops, butchers, and a bunch of restaurants offering mediterranean, Lebanese, Thai, Taiwanese, Chinese, and of course, Pizza. Wendell Park is the closest park, small but lovely and usually packed with children enjoying themselves after school hours and weekends. Loads of dogs too! On the whole. I'd say this neighbourhood is very safe, peaceful, friendly and cheaper than W12!! However, sometimes I wish there were new shops, bringing a more moderen and up to date feel.

It’s residential enough that you don’t feel like you’re in zone 2 but close enough to transport to get you into central London within 15 minutes. It’s the perfect combination especially if you’re commuting into the city for your job every weekday. Westfield is the star attraction but just a bus ride away is beautiful Chiswick High Road with trendy shops, bars and restaurants. Can’t go wrong!

Being zone 2 in London you have buses going in every direction aswell as tube stations. Close by you have Stamford Brook (distinct line), Goldhawk Road (Hammersmith and City and Circle line) aswell as Shepherds Bush and White City (Central Line). It is particularly busy around rush hour (especially at Shepherd’s Bush) between 8-9 in the morning.

It’s a beautiful area with gorgeous houses so lovely to walk around. I get the impression that there is a mix of owners and renters in the area. You have the odd crime happen (where doesn’t that happen in London?!) but I don’t feel unsafe walking around the area. I never have a problem with bin collection. You have bins for your black rubbish and then Hammersmith and Fulham council provide you with recycling bags for your recycling. It’s an unspoken rule that you don’t put your recycling out until the night before collection. It keeps the area looking tidy.
Amenities
There are some great local coffee shops - Lavelli Bakery being one on Askew Road. Great coffee and baked goods. A bus ride away you have Westfield which has an abundance of shops, restaurants and bars. Westfield is extremely popular as it has everything under one roof including a gym, cinema, Waitrose as well as high end and high street stores. Not far away you also have Chiswick High Road which again has great restaurants and bars but particularly independent special shops that Westfield doesn’t!

I like this area because it’s safe and quite but definitely lack amenities. All shops and restaurants are a bit far, nothing is on our doorstep. It’s an area split between 3 councils so no one takes responsibility for major problems which can be annoying. It’s good for families for sure

There are few tube options around my area. One is reachable within walking distance although it’s 15 minutes. All the others are too far and require a bus journey in order to get to them

My street is pretty good. It’s one way so there is not a huge amount of noise. The street is overall quite clean although it can always be improved. It’s overall safe. There are mostly families and flats are rent through shared ownership

There are a fair amount of shops in Chiswick high street, mostly chains. We have several pubs and restaurants with new ones coming up every now and then. There are also quite a lot of empty units which makes the area feel less buzzy compared to other parts of London
