This area needs regeneration, the atmosphere during the day is fine and lovely as people get on with their daily tasks, shopping at the local market, buying groceries or students on their way to school. The area is suitable for children and pets as nearby there are schools and vets as well as green spaces like parks. However during the night past around 9-10pm it can be unsafe as there are some groups of youths who walk around (very rarely) and try and steal from. The area is in need of regeneration
Transport
Excellent transport links in the area as the Canning Town station is nearby only two stops away from Stratford through the jubilee line. The trains are usually always on time with little delay. Same can be said for busses, the busses are usually on time and are as clean as buses can get. During rush hour there can be small delays especially with busses, the more reliable way of travel would be with the train. That being said there are barely any cycle lanes unless you go further into barking road

Parking is available if you buy a parking sticker. The parking is in a private area with security cameras specially built for your residents. Bin collection is regular and happen on Wednesdays and Thursdays depending on the week. There is some antisocial behaviour as there is a liquor store on the road. The people on the road are a mix of mostly renters, owners and families

There are a great range of restaurants nearby, you have McDonald’s, subway, kfc, local chicken and chips shops, doner shops as well as 2 very nice Turkish restaurants. You’re able to buy groceries for home from Iceland’s, Morrison’s and Co-op, all three are nearby (about 5 minute walk at most from all 3). There are a few open spaces, star park and another park near a primary school which usually has parrots living in its trees during summer. Thames barrier park is only about a 10 minute drive away, from there you can see the river as well as of course the Thames barrier. The park is usually busy in summer but quiet empty during the rest of the year. There are also 2 gyms nearby side by side (fitness4less and TheGym).

Canning Town Tube Station is two minutes away and the tube station is always where the bus stop is. There are lots of busses that stop at canning Town and as a result it is very well connected

This is a complex and as a result most people who pass through are also residents, as it results it feels much safer than the rest of Canning Town

In light of what I have written before, living here is a nice breeze of fresh air that makes me forget I live in such a buzzy city like London sometimes. I keep this calmness in my mind in the evening to cleanse myself after a busy and stressful day. Oh boy it helps!

Bus next door will take you everywhere around the area. The jubilee line is amazing, connecting you to the city in less than 20mins. Also the DLR will take you to London City Airport in such a short time you won’t even notice.

As said before, this is a closed community (although it is public to come here, no gates) of high rises built around a couple of years back. Here you can find everything, parking spaces, bin collection, bike slots, incredibly quiet as it is all residential. Plus all the services and shops that you need. Special mention is to the local activities in the development like Christmas market, grill Sunday’s and art exhibitions!

It all depends what we will consider. I live in an almost gated community of high rises around which we have many amazing services, shops and entertainments. However, if I venture for a longer walk around the neighborhood, it does not feel very safe, the streets are noisy and you can easily say that you’re in one of the worst London boroughs.
