Comfortable and well equipped, upcoming London neighbourhood!

Wouldn't say the safest neighbourhood there is but definately not one that makes you feel unsafe to take an evening stroll. Wouldn't recommend the high Street late at night. In general the atmosphere is quite nice especially in the summer. I love that it's so easy to get to West Hampstead, Hampstead Heath, Camden and the city centre from here. All within 1h walking distance (faster with transport). Many nice roads to go jogging around as well! I feel like the area is changing as well, and for the better! I would especially recommend Queens Park, Kilburn Arms pub, Farmer's Market in West Hampstead and Hilal Food Centre for fruit and veg shopping.

Transport

Tube from Kilburn, Overground from Brondsbury and Thameslink from West Hampstead make Kilburn quite well connected transport-wise. Also there's quite a lot of buses going around what makes it quite easy to get to. Jubilee line goes 24h on the weekends what makes it easier for the people who enjoy London city center nightlife. The buses on the Kilburn High Road can get quite slow during rush hours due to heavy traffic.

Community

Ability to enjoy more quiet neighbourhood (less traffic noise) but at the same time being able to enjoy all the amenities that the Kilburn High Road offers. The street offers quite a lot parking space. Mostly families/ young couples occupy the houses with what I feel majority is renters.

Amenities

Kilburn High Road provides you with a wide range of shops, pubs and other amenities. Just by the tube station you got Tesco and Sainsburys and further down the Street other shops like Aldi, Tkmaxx, Sportzone, Iceland and M&S. Pub goes have a couple of them to choose from including North London Tavern (huge space and nice food, close to the tube station) , Kilburn Arms (beautiful interior and pretty calm, with huge back garden) , Sir John Campbell (cosy Irish pub with nice pizza menu) and Black Lion (located just next to Kilburn Grange Park) to name a few. There's quite a lot convenience stores and fruit and veg shops to choose from as well, with Hilal Food Centre being the biggest one and offering a huge diversity of products from different countries. You will find yourself at walking distance from three parks, Kilburn Grange, Tiverton Park and Queens Park. The neighbourhood is pretty safe but perhaps a late night walk down the hight street would not be advisable as it can get a bit dodgy. What is missing is post office that could be closer, at the moment all of them are sort of scattered around the area with 10-15min walk to get to one. All in all Kilburn is quite a cool place to live in as it offers decently priced housing with all the above-mentioned amenities at your hand.

This Street has a very friendly atmosphere

This area is perfect to be honest, with amazing amenities, transport links and a sense of community. I feel very safe walking around the area at all times, and the high street is very nicely maintained to make it a positive place to live

Transport

Transport links from NW6 are perfect, with Queens Park for the tube system and Brondesbury Park for the overground both within 5-min walking distance. This can get you to most places in London with ease, especially as there are direct trains to big stations like Paddington, Euston and Clapham Junction. I can’t think of many problems at all with the transport links, as there are also busses which serve the local area well

Community

This Street has a very friendly atmosphere, with lots of families willing to meet up and host events. During the lockdowns there has been a real spirit of camaraderie, including clapping for careers and singing Christmas carols on doorsteps. In normal times there is an annual party in the park which is a great way to meet all the neighbors. Anti-social behaviour is non-existent I would say.

Amenities

The shops in the NW6 area fulfil all your needs, with The Sainsbury’s local and Co-Op on Salisbury Road perfect for most grocery shopping occasions. There is also a Planet Organic and an M&S in the very close area, and you can find a large Sainsbury’s close by in Ladbroke Grove too. I would say that grocery shops is one of the best parts about NW6, especially when you factor in the Sunday Farmers Market, which really is unbeatable in the rest of London. In terms of restaurants there is maybe a bit less but still plenty of good options, including a sushi place recently visited by none other than Kanye West! There are good options for a pint on Salisbury Road (The Salisbury, The Alice House) and also some others only a short walk away

Too many council estates nearby.

Area feels unsafe. Generally dirty. Too many council estates nearby.

Transport

Connected to the bakerloo, overground and jubilee line. Lots of local buses. Driving is a pain now due to covid pacement extensions. Some places walking distance.

Community

Parking is ok but expensive. Can easily get visitors permits. No traffic noise. People here are mostly working couples. Some families. Most places have gardens. Pretty trees on the streets.

Amenities

Loads of lovely shops and bars. Good places for coffee nearby. Cheap shops on the high road and better quality mofe expensive shops near Queens Park
