Very dog friendly. There is also a lot of exciting new changes that have been happening over the last few years, and are planned in the future, such as the Peckham Coal line and the Bakerloo line tube station

Queens Road Peckham station is served by the London Overground (on the Dalston to Clapham Junction line with trains running every 15 minutes) and National Rail trains (on the London Bridge to West Croydon or Crystal Palace line with trains running every 15 minutes). It is very accessible to central London with the train to London Bridge taking 8 minutes and Canada Water only two stops away on the overground. The area is also well connected by buses. Many people cycle here but there are not many cycle lanes. The traffic in rush hour can be busy but not at a stand still. The tube is planned to be developed to the area in a few years, with a station very close by.
Community
Kings Grove is a quiet residential street with little traffic as it is not a through road. There is a community garden on the street which any resident can obtain a key to and use. Our garden backs on to other gardens on a parallel street so there is no access at the rear of our property, making it safe and quiet. There is a mix of residents who live on the street but people know each other and there is little antisocial behaviour. It can be difficult to get a car parking space on the street as it is not permitted.

Queens Road Peckham is a great location with a number of great local amenities in the immediate area; a Blackbird Bakery with indoor & outdoor seating for fresh bread, coffees and delicious brunch, Kudu restaurant which serves high quality South African cuisine and delicious cocktails alongside Little Kudu (a chic cocktail bar), Peckham Cellars wine bar & shop serving delicious wine and nibbles, Little Bird cocktail bar for quirky gin cocktails, and Beer Rebellion for the craft beer drinkers among us. The area is well connected by buses, the overground and the train, and has a strong community feel, and is safe and relatively quiet. It is also in easy walking distance to Nunhead (which is useful for local shops such as a butchers, fish mongers, fruit & veg shop, pharmacy and a couple of gift/homeward shops such as Alkemi and pubs such as The Old Nun’s Head) and Peckham Rye (which is more lovely and has a range of bars, restaurants and cafes). There are some great walks and green spaces too, like Nunhead Cemetery and Peckham Rye park. The immediate area would really benefit from a good local pub (although there are a number within a 15 minute walk away) and Peckham more generally could have some more high street shops alongside the amazing independent businesses that are thriving here.

The sense of community is the best thing about Nunhead, not to mention the local Elvis impersonator who does street performances to raise money for the local Salvation Army! An area that is doing well to keep up with the times whilst keeping its historic points. The perfect area to raise a family, with little to no crime.

Walking distance to main bus routes that run 24 hours a day. Two train stations the run directly to main stations that also facility tubes with 10-15 minutes. Also an area that has beautiful scenery on a walk where you would feel reasonably safe... no major traffic issues at all in Nunhead

Luckily still free parking. Generally would get a space within a minute or so of your home, however in recent times you may end up parking on the next road ( I put this down to more car owners and multi car owners amongst households). Generally a very tidy area, road cleaners and bin collectors do an amazing job. The residents of the area a perfect mix between social housing and privately owned, in an area that would say is heavily made up with families.

Living in Nunhead you can feel the sense of community. Everything you could have need within walking distance; 2 train stations connecting to main stations, such as London Bridge and Victoria, community centres and coffee shops, eco friendly shops and a fair few local restaurants to try. The very best thing is the diversity and acceptance of all. For me, Nunhead is one of the best place to live in London.

Buses come frequently which means not much time has to be spent waiting to go to your destination. Sometimes the buses come late and the times on the bus app dont update properly.
