The traffic can be bad at school let out times...there are so many huge schools around here that the A205 can be rammed. Plus the coaches that go to the Dulwich Picture Gallery can often cause jams.
Transport
The trains around here are good. Ideally would want a tube too too, but can get to the Victoria line at Brixton ok. Trains from either Dulwich station are fine. The strikes can be annoying - but then I can walk to West Dulwich or North Dulwich easy so am not often stuck - they're on diff lines.
Community
It's a very pretty suburb and lots of nice people about. Just worry that my kids don't get shown much diversity. It's not cheap living here either. But I guess that is the price you pay for pretty tree lined streets.

Nice area with a lot for us to do. Good for family needs - loads of big parks and playgrounds. The children's playground in Belair Park has a lovely play area with climbing frames, slide swings - small but fine. The skate park will be good for when the girls are older. So many schools in the area too - mainly private though. We like the cafe at Dulwich Picture Gallery. But there are loads in East Dulwich. Herne Hill shops are good too. We like the market there for a mooch on Sunday morning. Only grumble is that there's nowhere cheap or 'edgy'

There is a bus from Crystal Palace shopping area which goes past and through to Brixton and then to central London. There are two railway stations within walking distance.

There is a small but well stocked Tesco Express, a bakery, a shop selling prepared meals, cafe, a few restaurants and a book shop. There is also a new line of shops dedicated to health, such as a pharmacy and wellness clinic, as well as a new GP surgery. A post office is missing but there are drop off points in shops and the Royal Mail depot close.

It is slowly becoming more trendy and a lot more vibrant.

The train station is unfortunately not step free. However, the connections via the train station allows speedy fast commutes to London Victoria and Orpington Kent.

There are lots of parking spaces and it is within a controlled environment. There are quite a few young people in the area but never troubled.
