The surrounding streets are usually very quiet, however if a more bustling and busy atmosphere is desired, this can be found a short distance awa
The amenities within walking distance is really a strong point - short trips can be made for groceries and the occasional takeaway without needing to take the car. The surrounding streets are usually very quiet, however if a more bustling and busy atmosphere is desired, this can be found a short distance away on the high street, where buses can be caught and friends can meet to eat out at restaurants and take-aways. Although the lack of an underground station can be frustrating, the perks of the area and the general safety and security still make it a very pleasant place to live and raise a family.
Transport links is not one of the strong suits of the area. There is only one overground station, and this tends to get very busy during peak times. However, bus routes are plentiful and buses are regular! Traffic is to be expected, with a large hospital and busy high streets nearby, but not unreasonable.
On street parking is plentiful, and usually a few bays are available throughout the day. The area remains fairly quiet throughout the day, and does not really experience significant anti-social behaviour. There are a mixture of residential dwellings in the area - houses with families, and apartments with couples and single professionals.
The area is just a short walk to Peckam Road, a high street with a great selection of restaurants and take-aways - you can grab an arab falafel, an italian pizza, or a traditional British fish and chips! To the east is Denmark hill, where popular chain stores can be found such as Greggs, McDonals, Superdrug and Poundland. An array of supermarkets are also found within close proximity, you are literally spoiled for choice. The street has a Morrisons, Lidl, and Co-op. While there are an abundance of food places, the area does lack clothing retailers (other than the odd independent business), so a quick pop into Primark or H&M is not possible. There are a few green spaces dotted around nearby also, however they are not significant in size, and the area is very much largely metropolitan. The greens are frequented by students from nearby university campuses, and medical students from Kings College Hospital, just a short distance away.

My favorite is the diversity of the area and the safeness I have never felt unsafe or put in a uncomfortable situation this area is also very friendly for families to live in since there are some many safe and well maintained parks
There are multiple different transport links such as buses, underground and overground travel with national travel also being an option there can be congestion at rush hour however this usualy isnt that much of an issuse
There are many different types of people living in my area ranging from families to work people and students on some occasions there is not much traffic on my road so traffic noise pollution is not a problem and parking and bin there are both well done and well maintained
I absolutely love the diversity of the shops, restaurant and pubs there are many open clean green spaces and lots of different entertainment sights and attractions the only things missing is the clothing shops which this area lacks in
Not a bad place to live in in London but not without its drawbacks
Neither trendy nor upmarket but having lived in various areas in London including Mayfair and Bermondsey, the pricing is reasonable (rent, supermarkets, commuting costs). Still close enough to the central but remote enough to find tranquility in local parks and residential roads. Beautiful architecture in some areas and nice city skyscrapers view from Ruskin park.
Plenty of choices A bus that goes straight to Shoreditch via City, good connection to other parts of London. Overground stations within short walking distance and a short bus commute to Brixton station although feels a bit too far for the nearest tube.
I am not aware if the people around are owners but definitely no student type of population, mostly young professionals. Noise is present from a couple of main roads nearby. Can get loud due to the younger population and also witnessed a few drug dealing situations on the street. Bin collection is regular, weekly. Cannot comment on parking as I don’t drive.
Anything from those on the cheaper side including popular takeaways to the chains like Wagamama. There are also some unique and reasonably priced cafes like Johnny’s with American diner style food served. Good coverage of supermarkets but no upper market like M&S or Waitrose nearby.
local shops are magnificent
