Id say that my area is pretty good for transport, for smaller journeys across central London the tube and bus are not far, all walking distance and very reliable and quick! So as far as inner London goes it all easy. If you want to make a longer journey, there’s many connections in Clapham Junction via train which takes about 25 minutes on a bus to get to from my street. There’s so many options for travel from there and all trains are fairly regular, let’s say 2 or 3 for one destination per hour. So it’s pretty good going from my end. There’s even a night bus that runs through my street so if for some reason you need to get to central when there’s no night tube, you can easily hop on a bus. The only thing I would say is that I have noticed on the northern line north bound from Morden, there really aren’t many trains that run via Charing Cross compared to Bank, even in peak times.

There are definitely foxes on the street, which isn’t great. So bins are often knocked over. I have noticed that bin collectors often don’t even attempt to place bins back where they belong, sometimes finding your bin a couple houses down. There is a pedestrian cross by Cresent Lane on Kings Avenue, where the button to cross doesn’t really work. You have to press it about 10 times before it registers it’s been pressed.

This area has easy access to lots of hot spots, Clapham Common, Clapham Junction, Brixton, Balham, Tooting, Streatham all within easy access. All of which have great restaurants, great supermarkets, however closest to me are Clapham Common and Clapham North. There seems to be a lack of clothing stores definitely and maybe entertainment spots too. Brixton, not too far, has a slightly more lively market vibe which is great and I love that there is a community fridge in PopBrixton to help with restaurant waste. Great idea! And just the general hub of PopBrixton, Brixton Village and the Market Row are a great way to feel a buzz in the region.

Clapham is a very trendy area, there’s so much to offer being here! If you want to enjoy a day of shopping or a nice meal or drink out, Clapham Junction is great! If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of a busy market then Brixton is great! If you want to enjoy a nice park or swim there’s so many parks and swimming centres around and most are walking distance, of course there is Battersea Park not far too! This area is great for youngsters and families! A little something for everyone!

Transport in Clapham is great, obviously there is bus and tube, with 3 tube stations in this area, Clapham North, Clapham Common and Clapham South, so it’s sure that one will be near by! You also have Brixton not far at all and areas such as Clapham Junction, Streatham, Tooting and Balham are all so close to, just a short bus ride away. Truly a great area for transport! With Clapham Junction Train Station so close the options are so wide!

Most houses/ property on this street/area have parking on the property. I’d say that Kings Avenue is a fairly busy road during rush hour timings so can be a little noisy but no traffic jams or anything like that.

Great area for restaurants and shops, lots of independent and high street favourites all just a short walk away for a bus ride away! This area offers low cost options such as Iceland & Lidl whilst still offering shops as Waitrose and Sainsbury’s. There’s even a food market not far in Brixton! Lots of variety and choice here!

I would think it’s not as safe as I first expected having moved from an averagely safe area. It’s semi trendy but there is a rough edge to it I am now more aware of due to being in the area during covid. The house I live in is lovely but the area is a bit more unsafe than I would like, but fear the gentrification I would like to see, will be slow to come as it has developed a lot as it is.

Very useful transport links- several buses go from just by my road in particular. Have both the Victoria and northern line at my avail. HEAVY congestion on the northern line makes it virtually impossible to get on at peak times, having to use the Stockwell interchange to get consider getting on it.

Anti social behaviour can be rife at the top of my road, but has died back somewhat since police raids on the 12 or so men smoking weed/selling drugs. It’s also one of the few through roads that joins onto a bigger road so there is a lot of traffic. Being located so close to this is one of the single biggest drawbacks of living here. Street is a mixture of younger renters and people who own. 50/50 split of full houses vs those converted into flats.

I’m equidistant between two hubs of sout London so have quite a lot of functional shops in one high street and a lot of bars and restaurants on the other. The practical high street isn’t as nice to visit but offers more in terms of clothes/home furnishings, the other has less function but more variety of appealing restaurants and bars instead.
