The atmosphere of the W12 area has, over time, become more cosmopolitan and trendier pop up establishments have made themselves felt. The massive regeneration of the whole area started with the Westfield Shopping Centre and has continued with the BBC conversion into luxury apartments and the creation of the massive upmarket 'White City Living Area'. This huge regeneration has imbued the area with a safer feeling from that which may have been prevalent 30 years ago. Pet Owners are well serviced by vets in the area as well as the several large parks of Shepherds Bush Green, Wormwood Scrubs and Little Wormwood Scrubs.

There is a very comprehensive range of transportation links serving the W12 area. The bus network, including the Night Bus network is extensive and the White City Bus Station located at White City/Westfield Shopping Centre is a perfect point where most parts of London can be reached. The W12 area is amply serviced by the Central Line which cuts across right across the whole of London as well as the Hammersmith and City Line. The London Overground also serves Shepherds Bush thus enabling travellers to easily access all part of London and the surrounding areas. All transport links and outlets are easily accessible the the shopping and commuting public that can enjoy regular and consistent services.

This area is remarkably quiet given that it is just of the relatively busy Wood Lane that connects Shepherds Bush withHarrow Road to the north. There is seldom any noticeable crime and this may be influenced by the fact that there is a strong 'community ethic' which is evident in the number of neighbourhood watch schemes and online communities that are focussed on the region. Most family make up of residents in this road is mixed and reflects the nature of the street that contains both maisonettes down on side and houses down the other. The near proximity of hospitals and specifically the Imperial College London campus and laboratories result in a high number of younger people that rent in the area though there are plenty of established older people who have clearly made this place their home all their lives.

The W12 area is ideally located to be within a very easy reach of London's Oxford Street and West End. The London Underground Central line cuts a direct route across London from Shepherds Bush through to the City. This connects the massive Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush (the largest in-city shopping centre in Europe) with the world famous shopping areas of Oxford Street and Bond Street. As well as excellent smaller shops in Shepherds Bush which cater to a wide variety of local needs, there is also an abundance of restaurants and eateries that satisfy an extensive range of local and international tastes. Apart from the large Shepherds Bush Green space which was not long ago redeveloped, just to the north there is the huge space of Wormwood Scrubs which easily plays host to many outdoor games that local residents indulge in and is also a massive facility for dog lovers and nature loves. It's sister, the littler Little Wormwood scrubs is next door which is a lovely manured garden with play areas for children An international Hotel, the Dorsett and the Ibis , as well as the Hilton International provide ample facility for tourists and locals like and adds to the comopolitan feel that the area has. With it's ample transportation links, several hospitals in the area, it's not easy to immediately think of any facilities this location lacks.

Transport links are very good in this area as we’re on the central line (white city and shepherds bush).we also have the Hammersmith and city line and circle lines.And there is the train station in shepherds bush which is great.Theres lots of buses,it would be better though if there were extra buses going through white city estate.

Its a mixed bag.We have lovely neighbours but there are some horrible groups around here too.Pheonix high school is in the area which means the buses are unpleasant around the end of school day time.Other than that,most people are friendly.its mostly council/social housing but theres some private,such as the block over the sainsburies in white city.

We are lucky to have Westfield in this area, so theres a massive range of options for shops,restaurants and bars.In addition,there are lovely parks such as the shepherds bush green,hammersmith park and wormholt park.Ravenscourt park and holland park are also nearby.The only amenity I can think of thats missing are clubs.There was (is?)a club under shepherds bush green but its not very popular.
