Overview of W12 7LL, Uxbridge Road, Shepherd's Bush

I love living here, it’s central yet quiet and feels safe. There is a friendly atmosphere where people smile at one another in the street and neighbours say hello and stop for a chat if you decide to engage with them. The area is upmarket and more investment into renovating properties and improving the local area has been evident over recent years. It’s a wonderful area for kids and pets with Wormholt Park seconds away, Hammersmith Park (complete with lake & Japanese garden) a few mins away, and numerous other parks nearby. There’s a recently renovated theatre, tv studio where you can watch filmings & events, Soho House, Shepherd’s Bush Empire hosting music acts, and Pergola rooftop bar. The gardens of the homes back onto each other creating a huge green space for animals to safely roam. The gardens are sheltered and plants grow well. Chiswick, Hammersmith, the river, Notting Hill and Holland Park are all extremely close if you want to venture out of the immediate area.

Transport

Amazing transport links with 4 tube stations (central & Hammersmith and City lines), 1 overground station, lots of bus stops, and cycle lanes on main roads. Driving is also easy with the A40 taking you into central London or out to the M40, M1 quickly. The M25 is also easily accessible.

Community

- easy to find parking spots on the street - regular rubbish and recycling collections - friendly neighbours who look out for each other and their properties - street cleaners keep the area clean and free from weeds - neighbours have planted flowers beneath the roadside trees on some roads - a mix of home owners and renters. There are couples, professionals, families and retirees - quiet area - feels like a village yet is so central

There are a wide range of shops catering to every need: a local corner shop with friendly staff who remember you and your preferences, Sainsbury’s, wonderfully fresh fruit, veg & meat on Uxbridge road, Shepherd’s Bush Market and Westfield mall. There’s also a range of gastropubs, good brunch spots, restaurants (many which deliver too) and bars nearby.

The diverse demongraphy is great you can get incredibly various food and meet people from different backgrounds. Some parts need regenration and improvement. Many schools are around for children. Sometimes it's not very safe at nights specially near shepherds bush green but that's almost like most parts of london. With lots of green spaces around it's also good to be outdoor with pets or kids

Transport

Very easy access to central london both overground and underground services. Central line, circle and hammersmith and city line. There are night buses and also they buses do come often every 5 min on average.

Community

Busy and noisy area, no problem with waste collection but there are usually burglaries or anti social behaviour. Good mix of young people and families. Usually some traffic specially around shepherds bush green and uxbridge road

There are variety of shops including butcher shop, laundry, grocery, pharmacy, post office etc. It would be nice to have some banks as there is not many branches in the area
