Transport

Acton has the most number of stations in London. We have over ground and underground links all of which mean you can get almost anywhere in London, really easily. With the new cross rail due to open within a few years, we are so lucky that central London will be closer than every. Cycle routes have improved over the past few years and should continue to do so. There is a great cycle path down the side of the A40 which speeds up journeys going west. Buses run well here too. There is a great service from Acton to Hammersmith which is sadly due to change at some point soon. Often car traffic can be bad on Churchfield road especially due to the level crossing. However, if you time it right you can avoid the crossing being down.

Community

My street is quietly pleasant. Luckily it is not a cut through meaning traffic flow is low. The residents are mainly elderly couples or families with a mix of teenage children and young children. We have great street parties and know all the neighbours both on our street and on the ones parallel. Noise from neighbours is rare. Gardens are close together so in the summer you might hear more noise. However, it is never unpleasant. Parking is alway easy along our street and parallel ones. And visitors can park at the end of the street using the app Pay By Phone, very easily. Bins are collected weekly - but alternating between recycling and refuse. They are collected on time each week. No complaints there!

Amenities

We have lovely privately owned shops and restaurants, pubs and cafes in our area. The very popular Churchfield Road is home to most of these. There is a wonderful pancake cafe called Mr Bake Me. Run by a greek chap called Athan. This is popular with the children and adults alike. Then we have a great bakery called Lavellis- perfect for coffee and cake or a sandwich or freshly baked bread. Heart and Soul is a wonderful flower shop where you get a great bunch of flowers for really reasonable prices. For a posher dinner date we have Fed and Watered which is a very upmarket and modern British family run restaurant with gourmet style food and a Master Chef finalist chef in charge. I can walk to 2 lovely large green open spaces from my home both with great children's play facilities.

You really have to have a car to live in this area. It is quite a walk to the nearest supermarket. it is supposed to be a 20 MPH but many drivers ignore this.

Transport

There is a bus that goes down Twyford avenue. links to the tube are ten mins walk away. ( central line) Piccadilly line at North Ealing is 15 mins walk away.

Community

There are speed bumps on this road which is needed as it is a cut through. There is a problem with motorbike racing at night as they can cut down the side of the speed bumps. Most houses have off street parking. Many of the houses are rented to the Japanese.

Amenities

nearest shop is mini tesco on the Uxbridge road and dominoes Pizza. This postcode is 10 mins walking to west Acton tube station. The nearest park is lovely Acton playing fielda. When Ealing council decide to do their duty and empty the rubbish bins it will be even nicer. Many houses in this area have been divided into flats.
